Take this with a grain of salt

But im hearing Geelong and Essendon together are playing hardball with Esava/Zerk and are working in tandem to a degree to get the best for both clubs by holding off and reducing the risk of losing either to PSD or Draft. Or having that leverage against them in negotiation

Essendon want Xavier and the cats bettwr than 24 (which is obviousily) well known

But neither are looking to agree at the moment even if offered that till the other party is happy (ie Ess or Geel)

The thought between the Scotts and Dodoro who has this idea is that Port will be the first to flinch the later it gets and cannot in anyway afford to be losing one of the 2.

Dodoro believes as soon as the first is agreed they will play super hard on the 2nd tall and gain leverage in negotiation.

Once both clubs (Ess and Geel) are happy with an in principle agreement of the deal, the first one will then go through
So we hold out until geelong get what they want and do a deal and then port have all the hand in negotiation with us and renege on everything discussed with us shouting "Dodoro hard to deal with" from the rooftops

Geelong are happier with the return offered for Esava than we are for Zerk right now

Geelong and Collingwood are stumpers. They stump up. I would say other clubs are in that same bucket.

If you're a player requesting a trade you want to be going to a stumping club rather than a club like Essendon that will lead you down the garden path, dick around and then either just fall over the line or leave you hanging.
Collingwood I agree but Geelong?

Who wouldn’t stump up for Cameron and Dangerfield? Even that, the trade was protracted and under the value of what others would have given.

Even with Esava, he wanted to go to Port last year and Cats said no because he was contracted. Now he’s uncontracted, pick 24 isn’t enough? Similar thing happened with Tim Kelly.

Ollie Henry. Collingwood asked for a first rounder given he was a first rounder. Geelong didn’t give it. It took Hawthorn in a three way deal that sent Stephens who hadn’t even played much since his draft to Hawthorn and Tom Mitchell to Collingwood. Collingwood got pick 25 out of it and not the requested first rounder. Another club had to help the deal go through.

I don’t really call that stumping up. It only worked because Hawthorn intervened.

Essendon and Dodoro would have been torn to shreds if they did all of this.

There has to be something else happening around Gresham with St Kilda, causing this delay. Maybe another player involved instead of Shiel going to St Kilda...who knows?

I laughed when Dodoro said on TR yesterday "We haven't spoken to St Kilda, only to Jade's management".

Sure, Adrian.

Think it's pretty clear, Gresham wants more than STK are willing to pay. Dodoro probably just trying to see how far he can shave down on what he will accept, whatever it is I doubt the compo will please them
I think Gresham just doesnt really want to be at stkilda after the past 12 months

Zero midfield time
Dropped
Ross Lyons game plan hardly suits half fwds like him
Mayhe a disconnect between Ross aswell?

Makes sense.
Or you know something centred around this - with other stuff thrown in. 😁

Shiel and pick 9 to West Coast
Pick 1 to North
Pick 3 to Essendon (Z Duursma)
Sure makes a lot of sense from the perspective of us and North. Not so much for WCE. They are giving up a player widely touted as a generational talent for pick 9 and a player who profiles very much like Luke Shuey in his last 2 seasons. If they have any clues at all they have no use for a player like Shiel given their rebuild is a minimum 3 year project. Even if Harley Reid does turn out to be a homesick boy, they're going to get a lot more in return then than pick 9 and a Dylan Shiel equivalent.

Why aren't Essendon in the Elijah Hollands game? Essendon were the only club who told Elijah they would take him if there in his draft year so they have had interest. Could probably get it done for our 2nd rounder, seems like good business to me.

On CPH2065 using BigFooty.com mobile app
Elijah only wants to play for Carlton? We don’t rate him now? Carlton are paying him an outrageous contract? We don’t have a position for him?

Not saying this is you, but it shits me when people jump to the conclusion that we’re not interested in a player just because they’re not coming to us.

Player managers have a lot of power. They’re going to advise their client not to nominate a club if the deal can’t get done. Or they’re unlikely to play in the right position. Or a myriad of other shit.
