So not everything is coming off

But love them having the confidence to take the inside kick, or try the run & carry along the wing

We've now equalled our most wins in a season with 3, and if we keep playing like we did tonight, no reason we won't add to that

Best performance we've ever had I'd argue, ball movement was as good as we've done and we still fumbled and made plenty of mistakes so it could have been even better.
That young girl in her first game is an absolutely exquisite kick, I'd almost say keep her in the side no matter what this season and feed her the ball across half back and the wings, her use could be a difference maker.
Pres probably misses a week for that tackle, but she's a bit stiff because let's be frank she was tackling a girl twice her size who was carrying plenty of extra kgs.. It was one of those tackles where the smaller person is just throwing everything into it to try bring down the bigger person.

Great to see Moloney hit the scoreboard, that goal on the run was a class finish and this could spring board her year.. Also Gardiner got better as the game went and I think if she actually backs her run and carry she could be a weapon, got caught out handballing to someone behind her tonight when she really just should keep charging on... She has wheels
Scott going forward gave us such a better contest and straightened us up, great reign to pull by the coaches

Pretty good idea having several AFLW matches in Melbourne being played on the Grand Final eve holiday. Watching the Swans-Hawks game being played at Punt Road and there's a pretty decent sized crowd there. Didn't see the North-Bulldogs game, but apparently that was similar.

What we saw last night, I'd suggest we've seen glimpses of across this season but really only in the second halves and not for sustained periods

Last night was the first time it felt like we were able to play the way we wanted for the best part of 4 quarters

Far from perfect, but it was really encouraging watching them last night with what they were trying, and that they seemed to be enjoying themselves. Hopefully a key takeaway from last night is the belief that they can play like that at this level, and they can do it from the first bounce

Some of the most fluent, potent football I've seen from the Geelong W team this week.

- Georgie Rankin stepping up the aggression this week was great to see; she laid two superb tackles early on in the game really set the tone, then a gutsy grab running with the flight of the kick further underlined her committment. Gotta be happy with that cats_09!

- I implied Frizz's spot might be under pressure earlier this week; against the Saints however she reminded me why her debut season was so promising last year - she's still only so young, too. Hit her kicks way better this week and she ran with a little more intent imo. Easily the best game of 2022 to date from Zali.

Others have been generally more intense and hungry this year; Olivia Fuller and Bec Webster are adding some starch to the clearances; Fuller had previously shown glimpses of the clean hands and composure in tight she's shown this year but she is fitter and less fatigued around the contest now. Loved the set shot.

Webster just gets better and better every year; she looked as though she knew she was one of the best players on the field before the game even began; really stamped her authority on the the game early on.

Best game I've seen from Mikayla Bowen in Geelong colours, she was excellent; used her pace and run cleverly.

Bowen, Jackie Parry and Shelley Scott have effectively replaced defectors Sophie Van De Heuval, Liv Barber and Phoebe McWilliams in our best 21; Bowen doesn't have Van De Heuval's class but she is 3x as tenacious and probably covers a comparable amount of territory on a km per game basis.

Jackie Parry is maybe less eye-catching than Liv Barber, but she brings a similar energy to the forward line and is still getting better herself.

Shelley Scott in for Phoebe McWilliams is the interesting one; I respect what Phoebe McWilliams did on the field for the club and I got a sense that she was a much-loved team mateoff the field too, which is not insignificant. Scott is more versatile and a lot more dynamic; she's in the twilight of her career but plays with a ton of vigour. Scott's goal in the 2nd quarter was an absolute ripper. She then took a sharp mark on the lead late in the 2nd quarter. Scott earned whatever her 2022 contract is worth in this one game against the Saints alone; she was a match-winner.

Brooke Plummer didn't get involved a whole lot in her first game but she's got it, no doubt at all. Moves well, and gets it to the boot decisively.

Chloe Scheer just did Chloe Scheer stuff all game long.

Claudia Gunjaca has really found her feet down back replacing Maddy McMahon as Meg McDonald's co-KPD. She won countless 1v1 battles against St Kilda and looked more and more confident as the game progressed.

Best players: Nina Morrison, Bec Webster, Amy McDonald, Meg McDonald, Shelley Scott

Fuller/Webster really imposed themselves at the centre bounces against St Kilda; both had been building to this kind of performance in 2022.

Just a few seasons ago it was basically Olivia Purcell and nothing else in the middle for Geelong; now we have 4-5 very strong clearance players.

I think Bowen is a massive upgrade on Van de hueval, Van use to always turn back inside and snap it around her body, resulting in a turn over 90 % of the time.
