Punk is paranoid, controlling, hypersensitive and fragile (mentally and physically). Look at how many people he has had run-ins with in AEW. It’s self-evident from the number of people who were banned from even attending Collision events. Pro-wrestling promoters obviously have to contend with a lot of egos, but when one person is the common denominator in countless confrontations (some of which became physical), the source of the problem should be apparent. Blaming anyone other than Punk for Punk’s behaviour is a cop out.

The only criticism of TK that anyone can sensibly make in this context is that he allowed the wound to fester for too long.

Absolutely spot on post, felt like I was in bizzaro land reading some of the takes here.

Lame news. Despite everything happening in the back Punk's stuff on TV had been consistently great to watch. Now with him gone I feel the direction of Collision is going to be alot closer to what Dynamite is so this is probably the end of AEW for me for now.

It doesn't lead to cohesive shows, but there's still a bit in AEW for everyone. I'm not a fan of the goofy shit, or the piss taking in matches, but there's still a few guys on the roster that put on dynamic matches that are engrossing.

WWE are the same too, a small percentage of decent stuff amongst a lot of cringe or through the motions stuff. I'm time poor anyway so works for me to just watch what I'm keen on and skip through what I don't.

Danielson back too is a plus.

Pro wrestling has been on such an upward trajectory as of late, but this Punk outcome is a real downer.

No hiding from the fact that he's my favourite of all time. It's pretty unfortunate how his return to wrestling started so full of promise and has ended up worthy of a Dark Side of the Ring episode.

It just appears as though he was paranoid and unwilling to take a breath during moments of frustration.

Sundays have become sadder, because Collison was something I looked forward to all week with Punk as the star of the show.

In am attempt to look for something positive, my second favourite wrestler of all time (Christian), is currently proving once again that he's the most underrated star in the history of the business.

He's gotten 'dead Dad' heat over without it feeling forced or cheap. And his recent match with Darby Allin was an absolute belter.

Punk did everything he could to get fired.

Does he end up back in WWE for one final run?

I agree that he’s a dickhead and WWE don’t need him but there’s no doubting he gets people watching / talking and clearly sells merch.

I think Punk’s major issue, all throughout his career is that he has been too honest. He tells you what he’s thinking, how he’s feeling ect. It doesn’t help when his emotions and frustrations get the better of him, and that he feels that he needs to retort.

There is no doubt that Jungle Boy was the instigator of the All In drama, as he had to get his little say in. Which is the complete opposite of being honest, as it’s back stabbing. It’s just unfortunate that Punk couldn’t let it go and felt that he had to stand up for himself.

As the famous Mark Twain quote goes. “Never argue with an idiot, as they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience” which is what just happened to Punk.

If you have someone of the quality of Regal giving out free advice, you would be foolish not to take it. There is nothing wrong with old school techniques, as over the years it has worked. These new methods where it’s gone into a 180 seems to have more issues and problems. Why reinvent the wheel, when you don’t have to?
I agree with you 100%. Don’t get me wrong, I love Regal. However, the gist of his grievance (which was consistent with comments he made in interviews while he was working at AEW) was that he would routinely go and work out in the ring and not that many young guys sought him out for coaching and instruction. It was a pretty tepid reason, especially when you’ve got other locker room leaders like Moxley at that stage declaring that you shouldn’t ask older wrestlers for advice (which was something that Moxley himself learned from Bryan Danielson).

I think the reality is that Regal has a special affinity for the WWE and not strictly being a on-screen talent, such that he wanted to get back to working with Triple H as soon as Vince was ousted.

Don't think it was grievance he had just an anecdote wasn't it?

And him getting back to WWE was more about being there while his son is NXT wasn't it?

That’s fair enough, especially with his friendship with HHH. It was always going to happen, that he would leave to go back.

It’s weird regarding Danielson thoughts though. Seeing that he went to a lot of wrestling schools, one of which was Regal and has picked up on lots of different techniques, which is why he probably is one of the best wrestlers of his generation. Moxley is someone that I wouldn’t personally take advice from to be fair.

Disappointed, but obviously not surprised about Punk. It's such a bummer how it turned out, from that emotional first night back, to just being so much more trouble than he was worth. I think he had an inflated opinion of his own worth to company.

I also think, having heard him tell the story of his upbringing on his WWE dvd, he has a bit of a "me vs the world" attitude - it's something I can relate to, when you haven't had present, supportive parents, you can become more combative, it's basic fight or flight response.

I think it's probably the last we've seen of him in wrestling. I don't see anyone wanting to hire him.

On All Out - way to tell us all that we're idiots for buying the annual PPV package. There's no way you'd be ordering this PPV otherwise.

I think I'd be a little disappointed if I were a London-based Dragon fan, that's a bit of a bummer that he's back the week after All In. (Although I suspect he's not fit, and he's back as a result of the last week.)

Shocked Tony actually did it. Good riddance CM punk.

A cancer has been removed from aew and hopefully the wrestling world as a whole.
If reports are true then Tony sacking him doesn’t mean a lot if Punk said he quit anyway?

It does come across like he was hating it there and doing whatever he could to get himself fired or moved on.

100% he will end up back in WWE. After all this time you don’t just show up to a Raw and see people backstage and there’s no way WWE don’t take him back.

They’ve always taken people back whether it was Hogan, Angle, Jarrett , Bret most people leave or get let go and they come back in some capacity.
Hell they even had Eric Bischoff come and go multiple times. It’s a no brainer for WWE to have him back.

He’s the biggest merch mover for AEW and WWE loves making money from merch and as if the world won’t tune in if he is appearing.

Not sure if Triple H would be of the same thought but as if Vince wouldn’t have him come back almost straight away and bury AEW and Tony on live TV given what’s occurred.

Punk just needs to get the Chris Benoit treatment, black ball him, pretend like he never existed, the wrestling world is better off without him.

there might be the "sense of ego" with WWE thinking they can make it work? remember Punk was backstage/at an event not that long ago

Hopefully Adam Copeland soon enough - would love to see Nick Aldis and Mickie James in AEW

They don't need anymore senior talent. They have plenty of young guys - Starks, Darby, Sammy - MJF as the champion. Miro and Hobbs are building nicely.

Roster is bloated enough as it is.

There are now reports that there was supposed to be a meeting last week a couple of days before All IN between Punk and the Elite as virtually a reconciliation meeting that the Elite cancelled last minute frustrating Punk.

As much as Punk has hurt himself, he is far from the only one at fault here. Too many people playing childish, petty, ego driven games.

'Now reports' = Punk's carefully selected leaking to one man...

The Elite don't owe shit to him and they have been entirely vindicated by his actions.
