scott thompson had hamstring cramp ( looked bad at time) played fine next week. this was v essendon in a final last season. im sure he will play he better!

If it's anyone that can mentally tough it out with soreness or injury it is Luke Ball.

I have no doubt he will play next week in the GF.

We have been very "cautious" all year with everything i.e. Wellingham twice, Davis, Ball (earlier in the year), Didak etc.

The more and more I hear about Ball and the other Collingwood players last night, the more I believe it was just severe cramp.

Mick stated after the game that even Harry O'Brien (who has never had cramp in his life according to MM) cramped in the second half, so maybe the fact we were so intense early just caught up with us late.

The 8 days will be good for us, but it does create a selection dilemma with Presti, Meds, Davis, Ball, Blair, Goldsack and Nathan Brown all in the mix IMO.

One more thing, given our history with hamstrings, you would think the medical staff would be able to identify a hamstring injury.

Hope So - Just hope it's not Mind Games already

Who really knows but when your up by 60+ and the game is in the bag, there is no need to bring a player back on, so I wouldn't read to much into him not coming back on. Wellers went off against the cheats and the Dogs in the QF with plenty of game time left and didn't return but still played the next week.

Here's hoping we got it before it was a tear.

Dids shoulder is not right but he'll play. Looks alot like the injury Dick sustained V Swans earlier in the year. May need post season shoulder op.

Not sure on Leons' hammy but reported as just tightness.

Didak's shoulder isn't as bad as Dicks'. Dick kept popping his shoulder out, while Didak only seems to have some "soreness" whenever he is hit on the shoulder.

He obviously has a pec or shoulder problem, but it's not restricting him too much.

Didak seemed to play better after that hit on his arm. So I doubt it had much effect. Unless it swelled up afterwards, ofcourse..

"I caught it off the toilet seat"

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman"

"My mum gave me a pill"

"It was cramp"

personally, I'll wait for the presser from a more reliable source, like say Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf (Bahgdad Bob), the Iraqi information minister.

Ball at Recovery:

I am praying that it is only a cramp! Luke Ball deserves to win a grand final against the old team that only played him 50% of game time in the grand final last year!!! fingers crossed that he pulls up ok!

Bucks (on the Saturday afternoon Magpies Grandstand on ABC) sounds a little less certain about Ball's leg. Reckons Luke is adamant it's a cramp, but tests will show.

I'm less confident now. :(

Not too sure about those recovery session photos...they talk about Sunday and Monday in the captions ie think they were last week.

So much information in this thread, when you put a line through it, indicates it was a cramp.

Also, when he walked off to the rooms, he walked with a really exaggerated stiff leg, which again indicates to me that he was keeping hammy stretched out, to avoid further cramping.

With a tear, on the other hand, you'd do precisely the opposite...normally want to avoid stretching out the torn hamstring.

He'll be OK to play next week. The week off and the intensity explains the cramps.

Fox Sports showed him going in to the Club Today and seemed to walk Fine:thumbsu:
