So the real questions is: Will West Coast accept Hawthorn's offer of a pack of cheese twisties and half a sucked mintie?
That's all they have to offer.
They have plenty to offer.

Next year first and Billy Hartung (or any other player that might interest WC) would be a fair trade.

Anyone stupid enough to give away a 2018 first round draft pick, knowing full well the talent pool for that year to be outstanding, deserves to fail.

Because all the kids in other so called super drafts have always come off (refer 2006).

Much prefer the known quantity vs speculative picks

Of course you would. Why would you need it? It's not like you've got any decent youth outside of Burton. Poor bloke's back wont carry your club forever. So go for it. Give the pick away. Please.

Terrible for us, an average player and a risk that we'll get a top ten pick next year?

No.

Why trade Gaff for a 2018 1st rounder?

We could just trade him next year or take thw compo pick.

Any trade for Gaff this trade period needs a 2017 1st rounder plus steak knives. Id take a 2018 3rd rounder as steak k ives.

St Kilda could offer picks 7 & 8 for Gaff & pick 12.

Eagle's get a first pick plus a pick upgrade.

Saint's get Gaff & retain a first round.

I personally don't think 7 or 8 straight for Gaff gets it done but Eagle's generally don't play hard ball in trade week.

Would do in a heartbeat. It's not actually a bad deal for saints either.

Yeah nah, one of those picks should be enough.

If he does want to leave Eagles will be hanging for this deal

I wouldn't do it, pick 8 is sufficient.

7&8 being back to back holds too much value to hand over

I went to the Hawks board and was involved in a few different conversations, which included a few references to a deal of Hartung and 32 for Gaff. How am I being dishonest?

I stated that a pick between 5-10 for Gaff would be the asking price given he is contracted. I CBF getting into the debate again but I am happy to restate that in this thread if that helps you?

Don't come on here gloating you "ruffled" a few feathers and then get all melty when you are called out.

If Ahmet Bains and not Chris Pelchen had been managing the Mitch Brown negotiations it may well have been a different outcome.

Chris Pelchen did your Club no favours in the manner in which he went about it.
Pelchen wanted to combine the two players into one trade and WC wanted it to be two separate trade deals, you guys wouldn't accept that so that was the major obstacle. Pelchen wanted to offer a way under's second round pick and throw Cripps in as steak knives.

You only traded Cripps and did a deal at the very last minute, because you knew Cripps was goneski and it was a lost cause holding on to him, as he was already home and willing to sit out the season and not play football. So at the midnight hour you salvaged something from a crappy situation.

As I said earlier had your attempt to poach Mitch Brown been more professional and less underhanded the outcome may well have been different.

Fortunately Pelchen is no longer your chief trader and that duty is now managed by Bains who is much more ethical and respected operator.
