Man, he is a restricted free agent. If they decide not to match next year then they will most likely get a first round compensation in a stacked 2018 draft. Look at it from both sides brother.

Gaff is clearly worth a pick 8 - 15. He is 25 and entering his prime, he already is a b&f winner (in a grand-final year), All-Australian and in the top 5 wingers in the competition the past 3 years. Any club would be stoked if they picked up a kid with pick 10 that can match that.

Anyhow, it's been reported Hawthorn and St. Kilda have made enquires, but the Eagles have flatly turned it down. Evidently he is happy to play out 2017 before looking at RFA in 2018.

A trade could be worked out I believe and it will involve Hartung and a suitable pick (maybe another player too), it definitely however wont involve our 2018 1st.
