Love Smithy, but can you forward this to some of the hawks fans on here. Gaff is 25 and a better like-for-like player then Smith.
I agree Smith would be worth a late first, I think most Hawks fans would. Gaff however, would be worth more. Billy and a second rounder is just not cutting it and I'm staggered so many Hawks fans on here seem to think its a fair trade.

Be honest. You came to the Hawk Board and argued that Gaff was worth Pick 5-10.I ruffled some serious feathers on the Hawks board for suggesting Hartung and 32 was unders for a contracted Gaff.

I went to the Hawks board and was involved in a few different conversations, which included a few references to a deal of Hartung and 32 for Gaff. How am I being dishonest?
I stated that a pick between 5-10 for Gaff would be the asking price given he is contracted. I CBF getting into the debate again but I am happy to restate that in this thread if that helps you?

The way Hawthorn handle their trade signings is just Savage. That's why it won't take Long at all for the Hawks to bounce back up the ladder again and why most other teams take Longer than usual to rebuild and why many will Membrey St Kilda as the biggest Steele in last years trade period.
It is working pretty well actually.
If you honestly think Hartung (who is very average) and a second round pick is enough for a contracted Gaff and that anything more than that is 'overs' then you really have no clue.

Hawthorn are getting a steal if they give anything less than 5 first rounders to West Coast. Anything less than double Vickery's salary is a bonus at this point.
Well not exactly, worst case scenario is pick 19 next year but every chance to get band 1. Plus will be an RFA so always an option to match and force a trade.

How did that go for the Crows and Dangerfield?
Gaff is a RFA so the Eagles can force a trade negotiation next season.
At worse they get a band 2 compo pick end of the 1st round.
