On the AFL website on the list of leading goal kickers Lloyd is listed as Matthew J. Lloyd. Is there another Matthew Lloyd in the AFL?

We needed someone to have James in our name before we could play well again so Lloyd changed his middle name from "Albert" to "James"

Footballers having their names altered, albeit ever so slightly, during the courses of their careers is not new. Only two years ago, Essendon champion Matthew Lloyd suddenly became Matthew J. (for James) Lloyd, not to make him sound more refined but simply so that the AFL records could distinguish him from Matthew C. Lloyd, who played 22 games for Sydney between 1987 and 1991.
