It's cool you have a channel into what dead people think.
Kind of self evident you'd think. I suppose a few saw it as blessed relief. I'd guess most weren't all that pleased about the whole "being dead" situation.

Back in the non-spiritual world - we had a considered and widely reviewed pandemic plan that we didn't follow, even if you assess the clinical severity was at the highest level.

Do you support a Royal Commission type inquiry into our pandemic response?
Yes I do support an inquiry.

"Maybe the millions of Covid deaths were people who wanted to die" isn't perhaps the best anti-lockdown argument I've heard...

None of this was done. Dozens of public servants paid six figure incomes for years to create documents read and implemented by no one. Funnily they were the ones who benefited most from lockdowns - doing nothing at home months on end, getting paid handsomely.

Can we shrink the APS to a tenth of its size? We’d save a lot of money. What is the justification for keeping them? What they do isn’t even useful in a crisis.

If there’s a disease which has the average age of death at 80 I don’t think we should stop sending children to school.
That's because you don't understand what you're talking about.

I would 100% back a full royal commission into it.

We need to know what worked and what didn't and if the Federal Govts response was good/quick enough and what to do in the event of the next pandemic.

But on the plan, are you talking about the pandemic influenza plan ?

I think the plan he mentions was a general purpose pandemic plan, influenza being one of the possible types of pandemic

I figured as much.

Just wanted to check, it's another line anti vaxxers have used during the pandemic.
To be fair I think at least there some objective measure to compare (so it’s nowhere near as insincere as most cooler arguments)

Yes I do support an inquiry.

In August 2022 Albo said he wanted an inquiry as soon as was practicable. When asked 10 months later why he hadn't announced an inquiry into our pandemic response, and why it was not funded in the budget, he claimed it was because the pandemic was still ongoing.

The WHO states that the Covid global health emergency is over. Everyone who ever wanted to get a vaccine or booster has done so by now. There are no restrictions by vaccine for employment or overseas travel. PCR tests are longer no longer available on the spot. If you test positive you are not required to isolate. All the shops have taken down their perspex barriers.

Why is Albo delaying this essential inquiry?

Have I missed something, why are all the COVID crazies coming back out of the woodwork?
It's winter, there's a wave of COVID and flu hitting the country. They're pre-empting health recommendations by resurrecting the conspiracy theories in advance.

I'm guessing on the cooker social media pages they're probably already going ballistic about it like "lockdowns are coming back, unless we stop it!!!"

What health recommendations? Our governments are ignoring 15 months of 10+% excess deaths with ~50% of them Covid-related.

Lockdowns and mask mandates aren't coming back, thankfully, because there is no political appeal.

well, like most governments, is only able to concentrate on a limited number of issues at once
  • this would appear currently priorities for voice to parilament and also housing package
  • theres also a current RC going into disability

thats my guess anyway

No doubt, but it was used heavily by the crazies. So good to know in what context.
oh as in "covid is just the flu" yeah that one was used by the cookers a lot.

and lockdowns in the context of omicron + vaccination aren't effective; and probably even without vaccination weren't effective given omicrons contagiousness relative to original and alpha (recall that while vic locked down back to zero out of alpha, similar strategy did not work for delta)

Your overly simplistic views on a topic which has been discussed and explained many times over are noted. Cheers and good day.
