I don't think people appreciate how good WHE is and is going to be
Had a consistent season in 2017. Reckon you might be going overboard a touch.

He's 24, and played 74 games - if he is ever going to become elite, now is the time to make that progression. Which obviously we all hope he can.

All cream and no cake as it stands! Until he can win his own ball consistently he’ll only ever be a “nice” footballer.

He’s got the raw talent to do that (IMO, he’s the most talented on our list), but not the drive of a Pendles or Buckley. He’s had two injury free pre-seasons in succession so as you said now is the time.

Much needed cream though. Whilst he needs to work on his ability when he is in a contest, I think that he needs to keep his spacing rather than seeking out contests. We want him with the ball on the outside, because he's our best user with serious line breaking potential.

Training: [Insert month] 2018

A few jogged laps, there were some promising skills on display with a few of the new recruits. Some of the old guard showed their class in a match simulation. Mason Cox signed a lot of autographs at the end.

*cut* *paste*
You could add "Brayden Sier limped off on the 27 minute mark after copping an innocuous knock. He came back 25 minutes later, jogged a lap, then walked off shaking his head"

Whilst that seems to be written a bit, I'd suggest it is once every month or two, whereas 'Brayden Sier didn't train with the main group' is a far more common occurrence.

How is Kayle Kirby going preseason, haven't heard much, not that I've looked. Followed the Pioneers so interested. Is he is the type that could be handy?

Sounds Fitter then last pre-season but not still fair way to go to get his Fitness up to AFL Level

I think he crumbles when pressured and isn't v good 1/1.

just imo.
He prefers to kick backwards , instead of taking the game on.
The games where he got dropped last year you can count the oppsition goals he's involved in. Rather a player who gets 10 quality touches with a positive impact.
He's got heart!

Ideal candidate for the crumbling forward role that so many are keen for?

He likely would be but again it's hard to see him getting a berth given I'd have at least Elliott, Fasolo, Kirby and Daicos all ahead of him as preferred options in small forward roles.

Two consecutive preseasons will help. Given WHE's limited output due to injury in 2015 (11 games) and 2016 (two games) I think 2017 at a new club was a massive success and a sign for the future.

Interesting playing stats..... 2017 vs prior career at the Giants

Kicks 11.2 vs 7.8
HB 7.2 v 3.4
M 6.5 v 3.7
T 3.2 v 2.2

Thats a pretty huge improvement.

Sorry, it was a joke on the regular mistyping/spell check error of calling blokes CRUMBLING forwards.

Three or four more possessions a game will make a difference, given the quality of the takes, decision making, disposal and general set-up.

Not sure he'll ever be a super high possession player or ever needs to be. But his possessions usually result in a positive outcome

Agree, if he's getting around 18-20 possessions a game he's doing his job. It's his marks and contribution to the scoreboard both directly (0.8 goals per game) and indirectly (5.2 score involvements per game) where he really shines and I think he'll improve area's like meters gained to above 300/game average with another preseason under his belt. Pretty handy for a high HFF - wing player.

Yet it was a post of so much appeal.

Just made it a better post :)
