Applying the Fyfe Rule

The Johnson Rule only ever applied to MJ;Pav has his own private 'insufficient force' level so it's anyone's guess.
Surely by now we know the rules:
The Collingwood rule for fair fixturing
The Fremantle only rule for finals venues.
The Pav rule for insufficient force. (Judd)
Umpires being permitted to mark the ball.
The sirengate rule.
and the very latest The Fyfe rule.
Probably missed sum but these are the rules we play by.

I wouldn't get your hopes up for consistency, AFL is horrible when it comes to applying any kind of standard to consistent MRP or Tribunal decisions.

Don't forget the Fremantle rule of not being able to send over your b grade side that was introduced last yr!

The Fremantle Rule of not requiring evidence of something to be found guilty of doing said thing (AKA the ninja pinch rule).

Fremantle Rule #1, as per AFL constitution.

Set this club up to fail from the start.

Fremantle Rule #2, as per AFL constitution.

Install incompetent Eagle sycophants and termites as Senior Management.

Fremantle Rule #3, as per AFL constitution.

Give no quantifiable start up concessions in comparison to previous or future new clubs.

Fremantle Rule #4, as per AFL constitution.

LOL @ Fremantle.

Fremantle Rule #5, as per AFL constitution.

These bastards won't die. Let's continue to stick it up them covertly and via trend-setting rule changes.

To be fair I don't think Port got many concessions either. But both clubs certainly got the short end of the stick compared to rest of the new clubs.

Apart from the fact that they were an established traditional football club with facilities and administration, a playing list to cherry pick and strong ties to established players in the AFL.

Yeah, great comparison.

That was an advantage they gave themselves rather than being given by the AFL though.

Port followers rightly feel that Adelaide got a lot more concessions than Port when they joined, as West Coast did compared to Freo.

Wow... Daniel Merrett got two weeks for almost taking someone's head off with his fist. MRP grading that has the same recklessness as to Fyfe's bump ??

Grading in cases has been consistent. The newly run MRP is actually going well in regard to the 'letter of the law'. Penalties are different only due to existing record or carry over points changing them (reprimand <> 1 week or 1 week <> 2 weeks etc.)

The 'rule' itself is the problem not the MRP. They will tweak for sure which makes Fyfe missing 2 weeks and a Browny all the more annoying.

it was for striking not rough conduct and he actually got three weeks but down to two for an early plea and a hell of a lot of remaining demerit points (he just sneezes wrongly and he will get another week)

Just had a look at the vids - ****ing ridiculous that Merret's is worth as much as Fyfe's.

And what a dog that Matera is - thought he could get away with doing the same thing two weeks in a row. Unfortunately for him he didn't take into account two of the AFL's sub-rules:

- attacking a Freo player is fair game
- no player shall be let off if their team is playing Hawthorn the next week

My nomination for post of the year or maybe 1/4 century.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

May and Matera got suspended, sucks they'll both miss the Hawks game.
The Hannath report got thrown out and so did McVeigh's

If possible, May's suspension is even more pathetic than Fyfe's. Didn't even touch the guy's head.
But to take the prize for joke of the week, Devon Smith's is utter bullshit, you can't suspend players for that.
