What alternate universe have I slipped into?

Tabs always reliable? You could set your watch to him doing something freaky or dumb directly in front but “reliable” is a stretch.
He always did those Tabs things but without looking at any conversion rates, I would say he was a reliable shot.

Some good bits, some frustrating bits. Nothing new here, just a decent win given the conditions.

I thought Jackson played really well after halftime and used his pace and ground ball game to his advantage over big Nank. That centre clearance and acceleration away from Nank was a thing of a beauty. He still dropped some marks but also took some good ones too.
Apart from the obvious Cohuna game (sign that bloke for eternity now) I thought Johnson’s game was great, Aish was very good and so were Brayshaw and Wagner.
Johno’s moves through the congestion an absolute joy to watch, by far the smartest footballer on the field last night. You can’t teach that, give that bloke another 50 games and I stand behind what I said earlier this season, he will rag doll his opponents and be the best midfielder in the league. A beast.

Need to put a blank contract in front of Treacy and let him fill in the numbers however he likes ASAP.

can’t get over how good treacy is. how have we plucked this bloke from the rookie draft?

unbelievably hard at it, great contested mark, elite set shot, elite field kicking, elite pressure and mobility for a big man, and from all reports an elite leader? keep on cracking them joshy

I think you had to be at the ground to fully appreciate how awful it was to be there - can’t wait for a warm bed!
Depends which side your on

The north side with my mum was fine

The South side with dad was like bloody Antarctica

That wind tonight was nasty cold when blowing directly at ya. The goals were hard to kick at the Burswood Crown end.

Burswood Crown end ?.

Western end is the river end, eastern end is Belmont / Rivervale end. Never heard either end called the Burswood Crown end.

The casino is south of the stadium, behind the non broadcast side.

I think that’s the point, very hard to kick goals on the southern end, where their are no goals !!

😂

Was south so can confirm.

Other thoughts from the game:

We’re so much better at holding width now, and when we get out of congestion, we are able get it to our forward 50 really quickly. There were at least 2-3 entries on the cheer squad side of the ground that we just didn’t score out of because we just couldn’t control the entry and Richmond picked it off, not including the set shots missed. The forwards are doing a bit better too at keeping out of each other’s way.

What I love about where we are is that there is still so much to work on and improvement to come.

JL was asked about whether he feels our team is a bit disrespected by the media, and I really liked his response and his message to the boys to keep grounded, focus on the day to day, and letting the ladder take care of itself.

Also, shout out to Bae Brayshaw, who just keeps doing Bae things. He was everywhere last night. Very much leading from the front. I know Caleb may be on track to be our best mid and many people feel that he is heir apparent to the captaincy, but I still think Bae has the better temperament as captain. He keeps it light and fun, but when it’s time to go to work, it’s on. Caleb, I can imagine, may be a bit too intense. I’m not big on co-captains but I think because Andy and Caleb seem to have such a good connection, it may actually work well for the two of them to share the load when the time comes.

It’s interesting that question & it’s more being not rated than disrespected for the majority. Apart from King who definitely has disrespected us at times in not realising you have to walk before you can run.

There’s a lot around the League & on here that don’t rate Essendon & I’m not comparing us to them, but I get the feeling other teams supporters view us a bit like them.

Anyone disappointed in the crowd? 42k isn't bad but after the Swans win was thinking we'd crack 50k.

Perhaps a combo of the weather and school holidays?

I have three tickets and my mate has a fourth, we all didnt go.

Sitting in the rain for three hours isn’t a top priority as I get older.…come at me 😂

We were actually impressed so many turned up given the weather.
Middle of the school holidays wouldn't have helped either, but 42k given all that isn't bad.
