Im big on cricket, but I dont mind Baseball either. I often watch the 10.00am Australian time games on ESPN and Fox Sports.

Im also a bit into the soccer.

I dont watch the NBA much at all. Im more into the NBL with it being local and all. The A-League will also be an off season distraction

Baseball? No chance. Yawn. Cricket is much more interesting.

The NFL is starting to grow on me though - not sure why, but it is. I think the college football is probably why, it's absolutely huge and the games can be kind of interesting. Bit slow though.
Whats with College sports in the USA, why are they so big?

I used to be into the NBL before they started screwing around with the matches.

For some reason I am not drawn to watching Sport during the week, I see it more as a weekend thing. Apart from Cricket.

Never been to an NBL game, I might try it this "off season"

I must go to a 20/20 game, Ive heard its an experience.

Cricket's a bit like Football, there is nothing like being there.

yeah i agree even though i have only ever been once to the cricket. but i will be going to one of the one-dayers in melbourne for the ICC Super Series and thinking about getting a ticket to the first day of the boxing day test.

i see cricket abit like this to watch

20/20 = Watching the Western Bulldogs
50 overs = Watching teams like Port Adelaide and West Coast
Tests = Watching Sydney Swans

Good point :p

But for some reason Ive always been drawn to Tests, its like there are always battles within the major battle.

I also like the much more freedom the quicker bowlers have over what they can deliever.

Pura Cup is like watching Hawthorn/Carlton play, its just so poor you have to walk out :p

I have no idea, but in the south it's far bigger than professional football - football is definitely the big thing, no one cares about college baseball and so on. I don't know why it's such a big thing, but then again 'college' is a huge part of the American way of life, much moreso than it is in Australia. I have to say that going to a college town like Athens (which has the University of Georgia) and watching all the young pretties around is a fine way to spend an arvo.

And believe it or not, they get 90,000 per game over in Athens. It's truly bizarre. Can you image a crowd like that watching University of Melbourne play?

Not real into the hockey - might be interesting to watch but after a while it'll just be like they're going around in circles ;)

Wouldnt be suprized if the Roos started some rough stuff

yeah they probably will but i would like it if the AFL changes the matches to Sydney vs West Coast at the Oval so we get to see a GF replay and make the US game Kangaroos vs Fremantle.

Perhaps the Students would have had a future ;) -University 1909-1914.

Yeah Ive heard things like that before regarding College Football, but where do the crowds come from?

Ex students etc.

Im actually looking forward to the trans tasman series. New Zealand are a very good ODI team IMO, yet fall down in the Test arena

yeah they do have a really good ODI team with alot of talent and they really take it up to the aussies.

That would have been a corker :thumbsu:

But isnt this mixed in between the International Rules series out here?

the international rule series is played at the end of oct with the TD match played on Friday Oct 28th but i dont know what date the Subi match is.

so it doesnt mix with it.

Hamish Marshall is a quality middle order batsman and an excellent fielder.

I think Fleming is the best captain in the game!

yeah i agree with that and i really like chris cairns (dont know how to spell his name lol).

and i think Hamish Marshall should wear the fake Afro Wig (he wore in the 20/20 game against the aussie last year) all the time :D
