I think it is a great thing that the club is letting you genuinely be a part of the inner sanctum. And not just paying lip service to it. I wonder if the club realise how many people they are reaching through you and social networking sites like BigFooty. It is something I wish the club would do more of, meaningful engagement with the supporters and die hards. Some clubs do it better than others and Collingwood could really improve this. But it's great to see that they are starting to see the value in it. It really does make everyone feel a part of the club when you bring your experience back to us so thank you for that Sherriff.

I hear you Quicky. They're genuinely interested and very accommodating and they're always looking to innovate.

Hey Sherriff, do you get the sense that the presence of you and the other execs there has nothing to do with raising revenue, but everything to do with exposing the lads to inspiring and successful people outside of football? With a view to inspiring their football? With a view to exposing them to what life can be like after football?

It's an interesting take on it. To be honest, they can afford to do the camp without the execs. But it's a unique situation with us here, and the lads have been pretty chatty and willing to listen. The team-building/bonding part of the trip is invaluable.

Sheriff thanks so much for the blog & for being unselfish enough not to just completely keep the experience for yourself. Really great to get insights into how this part of the pre-season works. I also think the Club has become too distant from its supporters but stuff like this really improves your impression. I especially love the comments on Club culture - side by side. I think this stuff is really important and is what helps win flags in the end. I also reckon it would be great for these young blokes to have some more experienced people of good character (I'm assuming!) around them from other walks. The Club is smart to do this, it surely is a mentoring thing as much as anyhting. Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Not a post about Arizona but rathe those not in Arizona.

Saw about 5 Collingwood boys at 1000 Steps at Mount Dandenong on Saturday morning. Looked to be mostly rookies / first year players as I didn't recognise them. One of them was Irish. But, Andy Krakouer was there with them. From what I saw they went up and down a couple of times.

Tarkyn Lockyer was the one in charge too.

Not sure if it'd been posted or where it should be posted but here is!

Thats really interesting cheers for the info :thumbsu:

Looks like we are intent on giving everyone the same opportunities and don't want anyone on the list falling behind.

The Irish lad would have been Mooney and two of the others Paine and Gaunt.

How many were there all up? Just the four?

Thanks again for the reports Sherriff.

I was watching the Ben Johnson interview on CTV, and was more interested what was going on behind, watch some of the basketball action behind BJ.:)

No worries.

I believe there were four. Two went with Lockyer and Krakouer went with another guy.

I couldn't find images on the Pies website so I'll just describe the players I can remember:

- Krakouer (obviously)
- A shaven head guy. Didn't look too toned, probably around 6'1"?
- A tallish, skinny looking dark haired kid (looked 18).
- I believe the Irish guy had redish hair.

I think that's it. Definitely a red haired player there so if you have no Irish red heads, add another player. I just remember the Irish voice.

Krakouer I think went with the shaven head guy. They were a bit slower than the other 3 (including Lockyer). Krakouer and the shaven haired bloke seemed to just walk up it whereas the other 3 would tend to jog / trot up it a bit.

Hope that helps a bit.

- Krakouer
- Paine?
- Gault?
- Cribbin

No Wood or Brown? - they both stayed behind. No Farmer, Reed, Stubbs? - they're on the 'Permission to train' list.

Hartley for the shaved head guy
Cribbin the redhead
and possibly gault/paine for the last one
