****ing hell, now Naicos would have been good in any era. He would have been destroyed in the 70s, 80s and 90s when soft players were badly exposed and their bodies punished.
While true, I think it's rather sad that we've had opportunities as a sport at generational talents marred by bigger, meaner players ruining these smaller, talented player's careers before they began.

I don't think it's a bad thing that we've gotten better.

Funny that comments like those are said by former players that would have done the destroying in other eras.
Look I think Daicos would dominate in any era... As would most modern players, I just think the minute he started dominating someone like Derm, Barry Hall or Jacko would have walked up to him and punched him square in the head and probably ended his footy career.

I still play come across some of those angry old lunatics in my local footy matches. Beat them fairly in a contest and they start throwing hands like no tomorrow.

Not at all. It’s a very good thing that players health are taken more seriously than in previous eras.

Just thought it was ridiculous taking a player from this era and dropping him into a way tougher era and thinking it’s so easy to imagine. It isn’t.

Yeah, that’s pretty crazy. Some people are just thugs and don’t understand the consequences of hurting other players for that player.

The reality is, most wouldn’t have caught him to hit him. Then again, would he be as quick as training standards were different.

It’s impossible to have the “players across eras” conversation as there are too many intangible factors that contribute to player development.

The truly greats would transcend, imagine Stynes today, other than that, it’s too divergent.
