I’m trying to forget 🥲
Exactly. Would be good if everything we see watching other teams wasn't reflected back as a whinge about ours in this thread. (please 😊)

He also chases at high speed and tackles hard. Cottrell does the opposite. Chalk and Cheese.
Mcreery makes a huge diff to filth

That goal he scored was all planned.

Peddles ran inwards whilst mcreery and daicos ran outwards and Cameron tapped it outwards whilst lions players got sucked in running inwards.

Interesting. So was Dimma before 2017. He learned to let go and trust his assistants and players.

Let’s hope Vossy does similar.

He's had his chances.

It was a massive criticism in his coaching at Brisbane.

His refusal to blood younger players outside of rare exceptions.

A refusal to move off Plan A and to stick with his favorites.

The same criticisms we have of him at Carlton are why he was fired in Brisbane.

He's a better coach now than he was then but he's the same person.

This is true by his own admission

Underlying philosophy won’t change it’s how he implements it. He ain’t doing it well consistently.. or pushing the wrong levers stifling momentum.

It’s all about IQ

mcreery is smart

Cottrell is goofey
Think this is a touch unfair. Cotts was playing some pretty intelligent footy prior to his injury, and while they play similar positions their roles aren't really the same. Cotts doesn't tackle and forms a link up, and is not particularly good in the contest, contributing through simply never taking a rest and disposing intelligently, kicking goals when they come; a high half forward. MaCreery is a Richmond small forward, with pace to burn.

I'd kill to have a MaCreery at Carlton, but they're not really equivalents. The closest we have to what he does is Cinc when he played forward, and that worked pretty bloody well til Voss ****ed with it.

Agree

Someone mentioned Voss wants cotts to be a mcreery type but I can’t see that happening.
