Yawn... Here we go again..

Neil Craig was begged by the Lions to join up...the Lions offered him his own suburb, a palace, sixteen new wives, and a donkey to be director of coaching but he still hot footed it - to get away from Michael Voss and the club..

cant wait to see who we end up with - ali baba and the forty theives

I wouldn't say Craig was begged. They met with him and discussed it. As did Richmond, Carlton, Melbourne and Adelaide. It just so happens he decided perhaps he'd like to live in Melbourne. Being the footy capital, that isn't much of a surprise. It had nothing to do with Vossy.

By your logic anyway, if Voss is such a bad coach than any assistant should LOVE to come up here, because soon enough there will be a vacant senior coaching position for them to walk into. It gives them the best chance to prove themselves as worthy for the job.

You are exaggerating and making tenuous assumptions to paint Voss as the bad guy.

Pfft. I heard Voss tortures kittens. For fun.

Gubby, on the other hand, rides unicorns to work, using rainbows as shortcuts over Sydney traffic.

When I said 'exaggerating' I was referring to the lengths you suggested the club went to to get Craig.

Your psychological insight into what Craig's motivations are was the 'tenuous assumptions' part.

Dean Warren on SEN this morning said he was confident of an announcement in the next week or so in regards to an assistant coach.

Courier Mail today also says we are finalising two appointments and may announce by the end of the week.

Going by Eddies comments on falafels.... are you implying we snared some one from GWS?

Has Mark Harvey mentioned if he was going to take on any form of coaching next year?

Out of the remaining candidates/coaches without a job could he be a possibility at all?

from the Courier Mail:

"The Lions have had no luck in replacing assistant coaches Jade Rawlings and Beau McDonald.

The Lions spoke to West Coast assistant Peter Sumich, who opted to join Fremantle. The club had talks with Melbourne assistant Mark Williams, who decided to link with Richmond.

The Lions had talks with Rodney Eade about the coaching director role that was also pitched at ex-Crows coach Neil Craig. Eade went to the Pies and Craig joined the Demons."

oh oh!!! :)

you know youre in trouble when Jade Rawlings turns his back on you...but the list of rejections is amusing...Vossy, might be time to have a wash

Ok mate enough fat kid from hey dad joke's, it wasn't funny the fisrt time.
If your going to keep bashing Voss can you do it on one of the other 500 threads related to that, unless you can show a source that ralates us not being able to get an assistant is due to Voss.

There is still a big pool of candidates to draw from and just because they aren't household names doesn't mean they won't turn out to be excellent coaches.

Exactly, look at Woewodin. He seems to have done an excellent job in his first year at the club.
