If Smith had turned up and coldly read out a prepared statement while showing little emotion he would have been attacked as an aloof prick in denial about what he had done.

Short of retiring from the game I really don't think there was much he could do satisfy some here.

Truth is truth. If they cheated they cheated. I actually don't even believe ball tampering is all that serious, all teams do it anyway. It is the lies that still seem to be going around that bother me.

2. They have both come to the realisation that the gravy train of sponsorships and other monetary endorsements that fund their lavish lifestyle has come to an end and they are seeking an income source for the next 12 months before he reverts to a hit and giggle mercenary.

So I agree with both points, especially with some of the terrible wag culture I’ve read about (showing off trying to outdo each other etc). Candice probably wants to be too WAG and this is a massive blow to her, so as PR they will go the sympathy route, Simone Warne style. Can’t wait to see her on reality tv shows.

Agreed with candice wanting to be in the limelight with all the paparazzi associated with being married to a cricketer these days. She strikes as an attention seeker who has bought into the WAG lifestyle big-time.
