Saw OMs take on the Snow Dogs at the Junction. OMs looked red hot - very slick and skilful and ran hard all day. Won by 6 goals in the end...

Simon Beaumont didn't play so I assume he is still out injured?

Robert Harvey defeated SKOB today, must have had 40 touches and 99% of them hit targets.
Amazingly the gale swung around at the last change so OH kicked with the gale for three quarters. Harvey will keep them in B Section.

Jeez Briza, you must have been watching the 19s on the back oval. There was a slight westerly breeze going across the ground most of the afternoon that favoured neither team.

Harvs kicked the sealer in the fourth, had a good all-round game, you can't say he won it by himself.

I wonder if the Haileybury lad who had an open goal and kicked it into the post from about two metres out will be on Almost Footy Legends next week?

Trinity too polished for Carey, just moved the ball far more efficiently. Rambo the difference, didn't have anyone big enough down back to go with him. Iezzi did as he liked in the first half, Evans good for the visitors.

I would have thought it was a good 3-4 goal breeze if you looked at Disco shanking them from 25 out, but I could be wrong.
How good was Harves? I thought he was unbelievable, first time I've bagged him though, was kind of strange!

The poster was a pisser, could have put the SKOB's away a lot earlier. You were adjudicating down their Tiger, tell us how he missed.

Looking forward to big Barry Stoneham debuting for SKOB, he's the missing link.

I'll get in early for next weeks tips.

NEXT WEEK'S GAMES-ROUND 6
Hampton Rovers v Old Melburnians
Old Carey v Old Haileybury, Harves in Adelaide.
Ormond v Old Trinity

very very slick unit OM's....

Good to see the lock of the week getting up again...simpson best for skob and harvey best for OH.

Ordinary use of the ball with the wind in the 1st & a goal-less 2nd qtr cost Ormond at Uni. Martinov was well "held" by the Uni CHB & Robbins again failed to fire. Kelleher again was best for Ormond.

No. 3 for Blacks is a very good player, had a heap of the ball & kicked a telling goal in the last which put the game out of reach for us.

If we don't have 5 min lapses in concentration we could easily be 4-1 but it goes to show in B Grade you can't get away with much & have to be on your game at all times or you'll get blown away.

thatd be loxley? if so he was very good last week as well

my lock of the week is OH to beat SKOB's at home. Simpson v Harvey will be a dream matchup. I still think the comp is very very even, Bernards/Om's should be a belter as will blacks v ormond.

Dont mind all the talk about SKOB's, they are undefeated in both 1s/2's this year, i dont think they have started this well in at least 5 or 6 years.

Was nothing wrong with Bernards/OEG banter last year...it was a long time coming. Am very suprised to see them winless thus far in a grade as i genuinely thought they would be very competetive, again time will tell.

my tips- need to catch the leaders who are 3 in front from memory

Old Camberwellv Hampton- hampton to score an upset, just. Good young team who will only improve.

St. Bernards v OM's- Could be a draw... Liberatore just getting the job done week in week out. Can the timebbomb light it up again?

Trinity v Old Carey- A huge game for trinity, i think they are better than their ladder position suggests. Take away the horrendous 1'st quarters and they could be 3-1.

St. Kevinsv Old Haileybury- Match of the round. Harvey v Simpson, Plugger Lynch v Stewie Loewe... Hacksaw tim duggan vs the whole hailibury forward line... OH by a goal after the siren.

Uni Blacks v Ormond- hardest one to pick this week, ive changed my mind about 4 times already. Ormond in a close/wet/scrappy contest which they will love. GR- If martinov kicks 4 or more at uni oval in the wet i will declare him the best forward in b grade.

Good luck to all.

ML

simpson best for skobs and harvey best for OH...can anyone tell me who got the honours for overall BOG?
OH are always going to be a tough assignment at home with harvey, voss, loewe, brown in good form.

predictions for the round

Om's- to beat hampton reasnably easily. Hampton showing some decent form in the past 3 weeks but OM's too classy

OH v Carey- would have to go with OH at the moment but the wide expanses of MCG2 may give Carey as sniff.

Ormond v Trinity- Ormond's form has been consistent, Trinity's not so bad other than shocking 1'st quarters... Will go with Ormond at the Gunn.

SKOB's v OCamb- Skobs to bounce back at spaghetti by 6 goals.

Bernards v Blacks- 3rd v 4th. Havn't seen blacks play yet so will only go on heresay... bernards just at the pit with a few back this week.

I thought Tommy got more of the contested ball but Banga got forward for 2 goals. I think a slight points victory to Harvs.

Tend to agree wiht your tps ML

Bernards, however, easily over Blacks and skob by plenty against the very depleted Camberwell

Come on Snag, the SKOBBERS aren't going to fall for your depleted line.

You and I both know that you still have plenty of quality players, as demonstrated when you smashed Trinity with '11 of your best out' as well as last weeks barnstorming finish to the game where you kicked 8 in the last quarter.

Would not surprise me if all of your guns are playing this week, as they have been out for a while now. If they do OC are the best team in the comp.

The inaugural Paul O'Shannassy Cup should be a ripping contest.

Good posturing though.

AHHHHH the great man briza.

You are soooo predictable. Reacted fairly strongly for a beda boy!

For starters, it is the Andrew Tsindos cup this week!

Secondly, Trinity have won two games, so beating them is no big deal.

Hows this for a list of factual outs from last week , just in case you think there is some "depleted line" being run

they included..Aaron Lord, Rory Hilton, Rayden Tallis, Kent Kingsly, Tim Hazell, David Loats, Matthew Partington, Tom Bayford, Tim Maher

Fair to say they would leave a slight hole in your side..wouldn't you agree?

just about all in your top ten .

Ressies also haven't won a game...

30/15...over to you Briza.

If not for his Carlton coaching commitments, would Robert Harvey be a chance for State selection for the rep match against the VCFL later this year?

Hampton Rovers v Old Melbournians- A good team OM's...well and truly beatable though.

Old Carey v Old Haileybury- To big for OC...although on the big ground...hmmm not sure now.

Ormond v Old Trinity- Home ground...trinity very very shaky

St Kevins v Old Camberwell- Not convinced on either teams...cant work them out.

St Bernards V Uni Blacks- Bernies to hit back with massive inclusions into the seniors...and reserves

Snag, last weeks outs are this weeks ins aren't they? Word out of OC is that you will have a very strong side on the park, including Loats and Kingsley up front.

FE, FI , FO FUM......I think it is safe to say last weeks outs aren't his weeks in, given a few of them are out for the season Briza!

How is Luke William's hamstring?
