Great photo of the St Kev's first XVIII in The Age today, taken in 1992. Is that you up the back Briza?

As sad as it sounds Briza was long gone by then...

Agree - not a bad photo. For the trivia buffs:

1. Name the 5 AFL grand final metals in the photo
2. Name the 5 blokes who were on AFL lists
3. Name the 1 state cricketer
4. Name the 2 AFL coaches
5. Name the 1 AFL assistant coach

PS None of it excuses Willo's do!!

Sorry PLumber, I'm not an "AGE" intellect so have never purchased the rag, can someone put the picture up.

Looks like a happy troll mothers day to Watchful Eye from HR as he has again failed to put up his Sunday critique table. WaW

Not sure if any Krusher posters on board, but if you are can you give us some insight into WASS. Love the el bald-one's work rate over last 2 years but seems to only play a couple of games and goes missing. One of the hardest running, clean skilled players I have seen, so I'm interested as to his 'story'?

OI vs HR

A game of if's.

If O had kicked straight after quarter time? OI wins by 50
If Corp had kicked straight in the 2nd quarter? OI wins, just.

Good contest with:-
OI dominating 1st quarter
HR dominating 2nd quarter and 10 minutes of the 3rd.
After then OI had control whilst never burying a very determined HR.

Both teams went down with injuries.

Umpiring standard was very acceptable, with OI getting the rub in the 1st, then HR may have got the better thereafter, but pretty consistent.

Have to go, being dragged to watch Dancing with the Stars (it is Mother's Day)

7 changes this weekend and a couple of our players returning after realising money or not, home is where the heart is. Missing Woods who did a number on Weatherly last year didn't help our cause. Getting close to full strength and expecting to see improved performances like yesterday. Still plenty of work to do though. Looking fwd to renewing acquaintances with the Oakleigh faithful next week. We've had some ripping encounters since first meeting in D1 4 years ago.

Tend to agree with a good majority of the above, apart from the umpiring, i thought it was poor at best and i am not saying it determined the outcome either way, however they were the poorest we have come across this year.

We were badly hurt by one of our young onballers coming off late in the 2nd qtr and leaving us with only 3 to rotate for the remainder of the game. Not sure if that was similar with OI.

By the way if Weatherley doesn't have the best set of hands in the comp i'll go he, strong unit that fella.

Just need to keep improving each week, basically a new team from last year with 10 of our senior players departing for $$$, therefore our under 19's/reserves have had to step up. Marto coming back in the coming weeks will help!

Congrats to OI.

2. Josh Mahoney, Steve Powell, Brad & Chris Scott.
3. Ian Hewit. The bloke to his right was a better cricketer.
4. Brad & Chris Scott.
5. Josh Mahoney.

Why do you say that? Not stirring, just being curious. The two fieldies were in the VFL last year, there were some howls from the sidelines about some decisions but we discussed them during the breaks and each one was correct.

Footage of a certain boundary throw-in will definitely be shown at the umps annual dinner though...

OTP

Footage of a certain goal umpire charging into the field to ensure the fields signalled a point may also make its ways into the annual umpires dinner.

Amusing from behind the fence, but i am sure you had a point?!

Bit of kerfuffle between the other goalie and fieldie resulted in the ball being kicked in before the point had been signalled. It had to be brought to the fieldies' attention before the ball went out of bounds or a free kick paid else it would have been a null score. Uncle Mick would have topped himself if the game ended in a draw or OI winning by a point.

The best analogy I could come up with was "like a dog loose in the sheep paddock."

Not happy Jan but what can you do?

Old Brighton put up a spirited effort on Sat, but their confidence looks a bit shot. #20 looks a likely forward! Did enjoy the OB Coach's stirring speech at the last break, although it did make it more difficult to hear Stevie Lawrence's whispers.

How about a summary of the game from the Grand Poobah.

I was on pretty good terms with myself tipping four , including two upsets.
then read the tipping results from OTP and saw several 5's and numerous 4's....most depressing!
