Old Carey vs OC (20 Points)
Solid performance against StB blows the wind towards the home team. Good to see the 'Nude Beach' finally hit his straps and will need Murrie to continue his hard work. OC are just frustrating at the moment akin to half the side on one end of a see-saw and others on the other end - when one ends up the other ends down - need to show some consistency and their young kids Hillier and Goldbatt need to step up. Mirilklis going very well.

Caulfield vs Beauy (30 points)
CG gone back a little from previous game by 2 points in fact..3.11 then 3.9 - come on boys your club needs to see more than 6 goals in 8 quarters or 5 hours of B Grade Footy. Hard for some classy forwards to do their job if it aint getting down there. B.Evans and Hammond are due for better games. Beauy going well with best goal conversion (63%) in comp. Will Dean go back to Sandy this week?.although there are some big names in the 2nds sniffing around.

OM vs OH (18 points)
Don't have to tell the OM players their performance was poor last game, need lift form Lawler and Mckie to get things going on the big ground - if their young runners can exhaust some of the big OH boys they will go close - thats if the rain stays away. However need to go with OH who whilst having a good game against OE had a number of players down incuding Warnes, O'Donnell and Thomas.Should get the chocalates though.

Marc vs SKOB (5 points)
Said it from the 1st round after a close game against OEG, Marc have surprised a few with Crapper and Marson showing some good form. Need to show where they are with a solid performace against a strong side desperate to stay in the 4. With a close season drawing out this is a vital game for both to go 3 / 2 with OH & Beauy. SKOB will be hard to beat however Mount & Sheehy need to be more aggressive & lift.

OEG vs StB (3 points)

Doesn't get much better than this at R5 with one team stamping their status early in the season. OEG going well and will look for big games form Baddeley, Towner and Ryan in this game to show where they are at for later in the year. StB with Potter will go in favorites and with the '____'roach back in form, Cattapan and Baseggio need to overcome their quite games last game and should make their presence felt early.

All roads lead to Windy Hill on Saturday, Cardio included.

Then again I could be all wrong going by my tipping peformance - my scouts are useless at the moment.

Cannot wait till Saturday night and check the ladder out - tears of joy and saddness around the town.

all the best boys and girls

OLD CAREY vs OLD CAMBERWELL @ Bulleen - 17 points
CAULFIELD GRAM. vs BEAUMARIS @ The Racecourse - 32 points
OLD MELBURNIANS vs OLD HAILEYBURY @ The Junction - 45 points
MARCELLIN vs ST KEVINS @ Bulleen - 7 points
OLD ESSENDON vs ST BERNARDS @ Windy Hill - 25 points

Big week of footy as i have said in an earlier post! Big games, a lot up for grabs...vital points won...will there be a mini break in the top 5 sides and the bottom 5...saturdays results will tell.
STB v OEG - like splitting hairs, almost can't...but a tip must be made and i'll go for StBernards by a point.
Marc v SKOB - home ground advantage here...the Marcellin boys run it well and switch well on their big AFL sized ground. 7 points
Old Carey v Old C'well - Carey to avenge last years defeat of C GF.12 points
OM's v OH - Haileybury way too strong for OM's. 10 Goal win to the boys from the Badlands coming off a tough loss to OEG.
CG v Beauy - The Sharks to continue their winning ways and maybe be in the four on Saturday night (percentage pending) 32 Points.

Also i just noticed on the VAFA website, thanks to another post, that the rep sides have been named. I can see how they name AFL players but i think there are players that have been named because of who they are, not on form. How Kingsley can be named is a strange one...against the Sharks he kicked 1 goal - and other than a 6 has done nothing in 4 weeks. From some reports out of OC, he has barely trained. How about we reward a young player that wants to play and try and actually represents what the amatuers stand for. How a player like Potter from StBernards can't be named and has bagged 9 in a game and have kicked 25 already (yes a quarter of the ton), while Kent has kicked 11, seems damn strange. This is not a personal attack on Kent, more pointing out that the Ammos headhonchos seem to favour players on who they are not their form!

Always have done this. And it is a shocker. Kent will a. not play and b. not give two hoots about not playing. Our rep selectors have been an embarrassment to our great comp for far too long. It is a disgrace how they pick the sides. Some research into young and inform players who are not washed up ex AFL stars would be appreciated by all.

Carey to beat OC by 17 points.
Beaumaris to take the points away from Caulfield by 66 points.
OH too strong for OM to win by 70.
Marcellin to win. but only just. 3 points.

but most importantly...

OEG vs. ST B - on form ST B seem to be most dangerous. but im going to back the underdogs to win. OEG by 5 point or goals.

Agreed - But are you really surprised when Darren 'Handles' Handley is involved?

Rivalry Rd needs Cups for all games

OLD CAREY vs OLD CAMBERWELL @ Bulleen - The "Mischa Barton Cup"
CAULFIELD GRAM. vs BEAUMARIS @ The Racecourse - The "Bulldogs v St.Kilda Trophy" for not really being rivals but being the last 2 left
OLD MELBURNIANS vs OLD HAILEYBURY @ The Junction - The "Acceptance of hyphenated surnames Shiled"
MARCELLIN vs ST KEVINS @ Bulleen - The "We played in an A grade GF in 2001 and wish we were back there Cup"
OLD ESSENDON vs ST BERNARDS @ Windy Hill - Plenty of options - "Highpoint Cup" "Puckle St Plaque" One Bar Trophy" "Lance Jenkison Memorial AwarD"

Plenty of away teams winning there - all the very best

Expect to see a couple of ex Kangaroo champions running around with Caulfield in coming weeks. Wayne Carey's best mates!

where do you get your information from monkeyboy? your not a caufield boy trying to generate interest in the club are you? after last two weeks why would they waste their time!!

Condos Out!!!

James Condos ruled out of tomorrows big clash, did a hammy last night at training.

Big blow for OEG who will now have to rely on Skurrie to kick the goals. The Snowdogs might be overs at $1.55 on Lasseters.

May have to get a police presence on the Moorna Dve bridge over the Calder to stop OEG supporters from suiciding

I was 50 metres from Condos when the string went, didn't look good at all, recon it's at least a 4-5 weeker.

I think big Skurrie can step up though, he prefers the 50 to himself anyway. Tipping 7 from him tomorrow.

It didn't look good thats for sure, the silence in the room before team selection was deafening. Skurrie is a proven performer however, loves the pressure cooker environment. Must agree that they both work better with a bit of space, it did get a little crowded in there against the bloods.

This may work out for the better for OEG. Could go in a little hungrier.
