Quick is on fire at the moment with 15/15 in the last 3 weeks including picking OM by 1pt last week.

Here I go;
SBMT V OE- 29pts SBMT have too many answers all over the park.
Uni Vs SKOB- 38pts I am going for the catholics for the double in the first week of the finals. Dowd and Co will be too strong for the UNI boys and they wil have to wait another year to take on Uni Blues...

Reseves
SBMT v SKOB- 1pt This will go down to the wire and could go either way.
UNI Vs EAGLES-10pts Eagles only because their senoirs are out and they can concentrate on the two's..

Good luck to all teams..

Quick

Ps Looking forward to the news out of OM's Cardio????

TIGERS ROAR IN TO A SECTION

The St Bedes Mentone Tigers have powered their way in to A Section for the first time in club history after they demolished Old Essendon in the B Section second semi-final at Elsternwick Park today.
After a tight tussle for three quarters, when the Bombers got to within 14 points, the Tigers tunred on the after burners and kicked 15 goals to four to run out convincing 83-point winner and earn elevation, plus a spot in the Grand Final.
Paul Groves kicked seven goals for the winners and Paul Wintle six, including five in the third quarter.

The final score was:
St Bedes Mentone Tigers 29.18 (192)
Old Essendon 17.7 (109)

Good to see the Tigers really struggle with the bigger ground of EP!! What a joke that anyone thought they were susceptable on EP or maybe it was OEG just hoping and wishing for it to be true!

Was at the game today and can confirm that St b's absolutely dominated again. Pretty much blowing the ill thought out theory that they cant play on a big grounds out of the water....however with the game looking over as a contest a few times during the day most of the talk around the ground was about the St B's player jumping the fence and attacking an elderly spectator (chris goullet's dad). Brainspeaking, I would love to hear your opinion on this one.....that stuff belongs in the SFL.

If that was Chris Goulett's dad he was embarrasing!

You should have been talking about something more important.... Who would you be playing at Kooyong next week?

think he may have been jumping the fence to get stitched up when approached by moron old essendon supporter..... and for what reason he was on the end of a cheap shot. as a wise man once said "the footy field is the safest place to hit a bloke" this said weak dog also dislocated his shoulder whilst celebrating a goal (one of the funniest things to happen on a footy field ever). to be honest old essendon weren't too bad however they have a couple of moron players who seem to upset the applecart. coach would be livid having to play a man down in a final for blatant stupidity that was in no way advantageous to old essendon.
the way they played the last quarter, the tigers may not have to face old essendon again this year.....

No excuses for Kinna and no excuses for he knob in the crowd from OEG, both should be held accountable. A player does not jump the fence or no reason. Also the weak dog who felled Kinna 2 minutes before is such a hero.

About time Kinsella got some of his own medicine. Typical classy reaction from the feral peasant that he is, jumping the fence to belt a spectator...

Hope he gets a life sentence from the Ammos.

Questions need to be asked about OE though, 47 scoring shots against them in a final, one every 2 mins.

Think they need to learn to shut things down and play tight as another season in B Section beckons.

SMG no punches were thrown was just 2 seconds of chestwork from both of them. Still it didnt look good and should not have happened

Saw the Kinna incident, cant believe how stupid 9 was for belting him right in front of the goal umpire. Also cant believe the medical staff at PEGS let him back on after dislocating his shoulder 3 times during the game.
Not sure what, if anything will happen to Kinna, is there a rule against jumping the fence?
St Bedes are awesome and will take a power of beating GF day. Now that SKOB are out of the race, Ill say it will be a repeat of yesterdays 2nd semi. PEGS actually werent that bad, thought they looked dangerous for 2 quarters.
Well done to SKOB champ Damien Ryan who hung up his boots today, a terriffc bloke who gutsed through injury after injury.

i saw the incident as well. just not what ammo's football is about! whilst the spectator was getting a bit personal, it was just ridiculous of kinsella to jump the fence. thank god there were no punches thrown... it would of made the news had there of been.

I was sitting right next to the OEG fan and let's just say there was some very unsavoury things being said. I don't subscribe to the theory that just because you're sitting behind the fence that it exempts you from some form of response from the player being abused.

If Kinsella had belted him then action should be taken, but he basically only confronted the bloke and let him know his comments were not appreciated. I don't see anything wrong with that.

And as for the SBMT/big ground theory, it looked to me like the Tigers relished the wide open spaces as opposed to being troubled by them.

There is scope under the VAFA rules for a player to be charged with conduct unbecoming, etc. and this may fall into that category.

Some may recall Anthony Damen (umpire) exiting the field of play whilst officiating at an OGGs game a couple of years' ago and confronting a spectator in a similar manner. Damo didn't umpire for 4 weeks.

It's be a precedent of sorts which may put Kinna's GF spot in jeopardy.

BS & Diablo...well said about the 'events' of Sat. from people who were there..unbiasased and sensible comments are good for the forum.

Terrific win from SBMT and a great game to watch for those who were at EP...makes a mess of the crappy stuff we are served up at AFL level doesn't it!

One aspect of OE's Verlado's shoulder dislocation that needs to be mentioned is the fact that the SBMT Club Physio (who is a qualified and practising one please note) attended Verlado and gave him as much assistance as possible knowing full well what had happened earlier in the game in an attempt to give him the chance to play again..this is the sort of thing that spectators should recognise and offer positive support rather than all the other 'crap' that people behind fences can serve up form time to time.

Promotion to A Grade is one of the goals for many at the club that was documented a few years ago but make no mistake just being in the rooms post game and you knew what the player group want...

RCT.

You're spot on RCT... it's always good to see the opposition trainers lend a hand. The trainers do a great job all year round and really don't get enough thanks.

Just on the Verlardo incident just want to clairfy a few things as I was about 6 meters from the whole incident:

Verlads had just taken a terrific mark and goaled and was really turning the game in OEGs favour. As he was walking back to position in the forward line, watching for the centre bounce, Kinsella has calmly walked up to his side and blatantly threw an elbow at Verlads throat when he wasn’t looking. Verlads instinctively was shocked by the act and turned to throw a right hook at Kinsella. Had it been in the chest or shoulder it probably would have been OK but it got him square in the nose.

Kinsella then stood up and pleaded with the field and goal umpire to charge him on report. The goal umpire was persuaded to report Verlads and he was subsequently sent off. OEG did pretty well to stay in the game at that stage playing with 17 men to outscore St Bedes in the 2nd quarter to be 5 goals down at half time.

Just wanted to clear that up for all the BF readers. Not condoning Verlards behaviour but we all know that's it's normally the retaliator that gets booked.

It was great to see Verlards pop his shoulder out celebrating a goal. what a joke, kick a goal and then hurt yourself giving high 5's and pumping the air.
maybe poetic justice for an earlier incident? plus it was a lucky goal as he sh it himself and refused to put his head over the ball, so threw his boot at it. luckily went through the big sticks. i think he celebrated so hard because he knew he squibbed it but saved face with the fluky 6 points.

Won't matter as his year is over. king hit behid play = weak dog = atleast 2 weeks.
