Novak Djokovic has won 62 tournaments since Richmond last won a final!

Well that's convinced me.

Better than Crowley, or Kelly, or Simpkin? Nah. All jokes aside if he was available as a top up I wouldn't necessarily be devastated if Essendon picked him up as cover, but our best? No, son. Just no.

So who are Hawthorn going to turn their attention to now.
As long as they don't win yet another freakin' flag, that'll do me.

Might be borderline sacrilegious for a Don, but I'd sooner see the filth draw level on 16 and, god forbid, you guys go to 17 than them win another any time soon.

Think they'll struggle this year. Expect them to still finish top 6, but losing Roughead for the majority of the season will be very hard for them to replace him. Gunston and Shoenmakers won't be able to cover him.

I look forward to a year where 'struggling' equals still finishing top six.

Might be a while, that one.

Yeah I know, but they still have enough talent to get there. Whilst they have Hodge, Mitchell, Lewis and co in the midfield they'll be hard to beat. But with Hale and Lake retiring, and now Roughy going down with injury I just think they might fall off the pace this year.

For the sake of the competition i hope they do fall off the pace. Would hate them to be the team we meet in the GF :D

If they do happen to win it this year, then they'll unquestionably be the best team of all time.

Four years in a row in an 18 team competition would be the best team of all time :( would hate to see it.

There's an argument that 18 teams actually dilutes talent, though.

The only four-peat to compare to would be the 1927-30 Pies, who achieved that in a 12 team competition. But the diluting of talent is probably more than made up for by the increase of professionalism and so on.

Yeah, they'd be the best of all time I think. As much as it sickens me to say it.

Pretty certain they are. Certainly as a club they are the best, most efficient, successful, re-buildable collection of people the game has ever seen.
