I'm still suprised Essendon hasn't mentioned Maric. We need a smart small forward who can crumb... and as a slight bonus he went to the same high school as Dustin - if that means anything.

why put forward a proposal that will clearly never be met

Get maric at the dons for as cheap as possible! suits our needs and could push to be a best 22 player, if he gets his work ethic all sorted

Seems like a pointless trade for the dogs considering they have forwards that include Gia, Vezpremi, Dalhaus, etc who will all make the side ahead of him.

Correct, Bate is an out and out Spud..
Cannot believe we knocked back 39.
How Bate is even still on our list is baffling,
then again - Newtons been on our list 7 years.

We knocked back 39 because we have no need to get rid of him (he's got another year, Neeld probably wants to have a good look at him), and in a shallow draft, pick 39 is pretty average compensation for a player we'd be happy to keep.
Maric, on the other hand, can go to anyone who offers us a pick (NM, I suspect, know we are going to delist him and see no reason to compensate us).
