Metal Storm or Heavy Metal or whatever it is... is so freaking big!!!

Best way to take out a helicopter (or damage it):

I hop into the tank and get into the secondary position that shoots out machine gun rounds. I ensure that I have WARHD equipped so I'm shooting out more powerful rounds.

I pre-empt the course that they will fly and shoot at the air, if you're lucky the helicopter will fly into your pre-empted course and they will get damaged and may (or may not) explode into smithereens.

THE END!

Played this for the first time today, IMO one of the worst games I have played this year. Hate it. Struggles to get through 3 games.

It's not that you suck in it, it's more that you haven't played this type of game before.

It's not your average run-and-gun game like COD, rather it's more like a team based game.

If I were you, I'd start out as a medic and keep spraying/shooting until you level up and get a medic box. To me, a medic box is a must for a new person to the game as it develops the whole idea of a team based game. Run up to a wounded teammate and just drop a medic box and you'll see your points grow.

But if you find this is one of the worst game, I think you should swap it.

It's just so slow and the controls are just plain wrong. Is MOH like this?

Yeah this is what I meant by taking time to adjust. Everything seems to be clumsy at first. Awkard and heavy. It's because this game isn't trying to be an arcade shooter like COD. It's trying to lean towards a realistic simulator.

Firing on the run is not going to work anywhere near as well as standing still and ADS. Even going to crouch will improve your accuracy a lot. Actually try using the SMG's because they give you the better mobility to aim and much better then the heavy weapons in CQC.

There's just that little pause when you want to do things like stop sprinting and shoot. It's something that may be an aquired taste but the depth of game play both as an individual and in terms of team work leaves COD games for dead.

Oh and don't bother with MOH, that really does suck. Terrible, terrible game for so many reasons it would take all day to lay them out.

Haha, you suck.

As for choppers, they're not cheap. It's balanced out by the fact that they're hard to control and shoot people with and they get r*ped by AA Guns. The only problem I have is being able to take them down with my launcher (I mainly play as an engineer), thanks to the lag choppiness, making the rockets home in on aerial vehicles is ridiculously hard.

It definitely takes time to get into the game. You can check out my first impressions on the original beta of the game and I really didn't 'get it'.

I do still feel there were a number of issues with that original beta that didn't help to get into it. But by the time the demo rolled around and there were those few issues fixed I was loving it (impressions of the demo).

I'd probably still prefer the fast visceral nature of COD over BC2 mainly because you can play COD with a mindless attitude where as you do have to concentrate and work through things a lot more in BC2. Which is fine for certain times when playing, but all the time it can get a bit much when you are just up for a fun session.

Definitely worth sticking with though as it's a nice change up of pace to COD.

Oasis on Conquest and Cold War on Rush are good maps for a CoD player to warm into BC2.
