He’s there to go nuts during the power play but at some stage you just have to put your cue in the rack and change your tactics

Totally

Can see with our recruitment and a batting order of Brown, JFM, Seifert, Bethell & Evans, that we want to be going hard from the start and the idea that if one man falls the next one takes his place

The problem is that we're rarely actually getting off to good starts, often losing a wicket in the first and/or second over which is then putting pressure on our middle order

I don't think we really appreciate how solid Shaun Marsh at the top was for us over recent seasons - he may not have gone at 200 RR in the power play, instead was more often than not sub 100 over his first 10/15 balls, but he knew how to set up an innings and once he reached double figures was damn hard to get out... Then the acceleration would also come

Would love to see someone with a similar temperament to anchor the innings as we really are missing that sort of solid player to build around

Sir Alistair no good?

Cook was pretty good, he was a run accumulator though like Williamson, Bethell and Gower have more style like Martin Crowe.

The total of runs scored aren't everything, it's how you score them that counts.

I hope you’re right but I think you are way overrating him from an aesthetic point of view

Brett Lee is the only one that jizzes over it no one else could give a,f.
They’re even using the technology on Border Security now:

Evans coming in down the order again - wonder if that's been a deliberate decision to use him as more of a finisher/hitter in the second half of the innings rather than him coming in during the first 10 overs
Strange considering he's used to coming in early for the Scorchers because the openers would fail most of the time
