TMac > Corr and offers more flexibility.
Personally I disagree with that statement, Corr has been able to slot into a side that made the grand final just fine and he's been a great shut-down defender this. It also must be considered that we will have a lower compensation for Brown if we get McDonald as a part of the deal and Corr is 1.5 years younger. 1600078879490.png

If you look at it from Norths perspective, we already have two first rounders this year, the top 20 this year is also a lot more effected by nga then next years. North will want another first rounder next year rather then another this.

Other thing you should consider re McDonald from Norths view is that we don’t need you to pay a players salary to in turn give us less value in regards to picks.

McDonald is a meh, I’m not overly interested in taking one of your hacks in the first place, however definitely not if it lessens the pick value we get.

TMac isn’t a hack he’s just been played in an unnatural position as permanent full forward. He’s a swingman and a more natural defender. Got the biggest tank at Melbourne, he’d be a walk up into your best 22 and probably be in your best 12 players.

You said I wasn’t considering ANY factors. Clearly I’m considering the most important one - blokes capable of converting opportunities into goals.

Injuries, poor delivery, game plan do not excuse TMac for 25 goals in his past 24 games. That is absolutely abysmal. We’ve banked on him reproducing his 2018 form for the past two years and he’s failed us. Hoping he’ll come good again for a third time isn’t optimism it’s stupidity.

I said you weren't putting any context and you weren't.

How the f*** don't they?

Look at all the numbers and they all point to our forwards needing to be some form of Jesus to stand a chance at being decent.

Bollocks. Go away.

Always find it bizarre supporters trying to sell their hacks... Mcdonald, Phillips, whose next?

Can we pin to this thread that Norths head of footy dept has said we want draft picks and/or players under 23?

How is Phillips a hack?

24 years old, played 90 games in a team that's made finals past 3 years including a grand final.

Pies don't have a whole lot to give who are not firmly in our best 12 players, the one player who has some currency who we can afford to lose (I prefer to keep him btw) is Phillips.

Hacks are blokes like Josh Thomas who would not be discussed, Phillips who is in an age bracket you need would be a great fit for Nth, Hawks, Blues.

No Collingwood person has said it would be a straight swap only that it would be a piece that would be included in the deal which would most likely include a top 20 pick also.

I've been hesitant on going after Ben Brown because I don't think he'd go well with Weideman since they are both full forward types with limited mobility. However I reckon including Weideman in a deal for Brown could work for both parties, North get a young key forward to go with Larkey and Dees get a proven goalkicker to go with a slimmed down Tmac. I would happily give up 23 + Weideman for Brown.
Disagree with this, Weideman is in our top 5 players in distance covered per game. I’d think they could work well together, Weideman can run further up the ground creating space for Brown.

I keep hearing we are in to him and would have a stack of money to burn. Not sure it’s the right fit for either party though and why would he leave one rabble if a club to come to another?

Think it's just about the money now, he turned down 750k he must be spewing.

He turned it down because he wanted a 4th year. He won’t get that sort of money now.

I don’t think it would be about the money, I think most clubs would offer something in a similar ball park, I think it’ll be about where he thinks he can have the best chance at success for the remainder of his career.

It will be interesting. North have a fair bit of work to do to bring players in this trade/draft period. You'd think they would want this one sorted pretty early on. Gives Brown a bit more leverage I think.

Not sure bringing players in is Norths priority. I’d say they’d be after draft capital or young developing players more than anything. I’d say this could drag out until they get something close to what they want. I’d say if a trade can’t be done Ben might have to look at his 2nd or 3rd preferences. Similar when Fremantle didn’t give Brisbane what they wanted for Mitch Clark which forced him into accepting Melbourne.

Wouldn’t mind him tbh

Would be decent support for Max while he fills out
I'm not sure he really needs it to be honest. I reckon he more than holds his own going forward.

I agree youth is their future but they'll need some established players I think. It could drag out but if Brown is definitely gone then I doubt theyd want to risk sitting on it. He'll get them something decent regardless of where he goes given up to 5 clubs reportedly interested.

Delisted 11, yes smaller squads next year but cant replace with just kids given there are more senior players already gone next year like Tyson. They need to be careful with this rebuild.

Although you are correct that we will likely bring in some mature players from a short-term perspective to help the kids, I can assure you, that any trade involving Brown will be for long-term benefit. Involving either picks or young player.
