One thing is that they’ve largely been impact type injuries as opposed to something like an acl where recovery is less predictable .

Ultimately it’ll be down to $$ if it’s not enough for band 1 its probably low enough for north to match with no drama or force a trade

If that happens so be it they will have dumped a lot of capital in two blokes,and to be honest if they don’t win it within two years they’ll be on a serious downward trajectory

Clarkson I strongly suspect wants to build up Norths midfield. Thats still miles off. That pick compensation Ben brings goes a long way towards doing that particularly in the likely event of a Tasmanian side leading to maybe 5 years of compromised drafts. This may be the last uncompromised draft we see for a fair while.

If North were going to blow everyone out of the water with an offer too good to refuse they perhaps could has done that by now?

We have invested so much into our midfield over the past 5-6 years. Basically all our first round picks over that time have been invested in mids. The last thing we need to do is lose a key defender for another mid.

We will also have our pick and Port’s first pick in this years draft. If we needed more mids, we could use those picks.

McKay has absolutely rinsed a large portion of the best forwards over the last couple of years, in a terrible side. He is a full back and an elite one at that. How he managed to perform the way he did under Noble’s game plan (still trying figure out what the plan was) is incredible. Under Clarko with actual structure and support, he will be even better.

Logue is better offensively, but not as a pure stopper and intercept marking. We need both of them.

Agreed, after coming back from his injury he'll be a 26 year old next year who's pretty much only shown potential and has been injured quite a bit over the past two years. (He's set to miss almost half of these past 2 years combined!). There were also concerns about how he and Logue had poor chemistry in the pre-season and Logue has been really solid so far.

His ceiling is still huge. But I doubt he demands a band one compensation.

I think if he’s offered band one money the Roos would be mad to match.

Yeah, I'd still rather keep hi but if some club comes in offering 800k+ it'll be hard to keep him on a deal that would be good to the team.
