Is he not the most overrated defender in the league?

Basically lost a Grand Final all on his own. Had Jarrad Waite (who, if you believe bigfooty, is pure shite) kick 2 goals on him in a quarter.

Calls of him being the best CHB in the league are VERY premature. He is hot and cold. Consistency is the hallmark of good players, and he does not deliver as he should.

Ben Reid is a good player with good players around him.

Both those games he was injured.

Tom Hawkins has franked his Grand Final form in the Hawthorn game and may be the best big man in the game atm.

Waite is a good footballer and the ball was coming nito the Carlton forward line rapidly.

Ben Ried did alright against Jack Rewolidt last week.

Ben Ried is far from Collingwood's top 20 problems atm, except that he is injured.

Gees the Pies lose 2 out of the first 3 games and suddenly Ben Reid is the most overrated defender in the game, Harry O'Brien is rubbish, Pendles cant handle a tag (after one bad game lol), and Bucks cant coach already 3 games in!

could say the same about most of that collingwood backline. one on one they are not great defenders. Many ppies supporters rubbished claims that it was the malthouse system which made them look better... proof is in the pudding.

We have all had to cop it on the chin from collingwood fans. what goes around comes around.

Also most of what you say re buckley, obrien etc is also being said by their own supporters.

Defensively is ok, Offensively he is very good and such he shouldn't be compared to the best pure defenders across the competition, he is a hybrid and a very good one.

I liken him to our Harry Taylor while Tarrant and Lonergan are our teams' defensive juggernauts.

Zac Dawson received little recognition when he was FB at StKilda for his stopping roles weekly. Supporters would throw out the line he was only able to stop key forwards because of the structure around him. Zac is far from being a star but I guess its fair to say alot are only as good as the defence around them.

Waite's hands were too good.
