Bendigo FNL 2012

Any thoughts on how the interleague side will go against Gippsland tomorrow?

Reckon it will be tough to beat them in the wet. Bendigo need to win and it would be a shame to slip further down the interleague ladder.

I thought we were playing Geelong Football League, one of the strongest competitions in the state.

That was last year darryl. They beat us by about 20 points. Last year i think our ranking was 6 (Geelong was 5). Geelong played Ballarat this year and beat them by around 25 points moving them up to probably play G/Valley next year for the number one title.

After losing last year we slipped back a rung.

Great win yesty means we again go up into the top 6 leagues.

I think this is the order of the top 7 or 8 leagues. (correct me if im wrong)

Ballarat --- Geelong won

I think the people at Sportsbet may well have lost their minds.

Gisborne now into $3 favourites ?

Word on the street you will be the richest bloke in Gisborne if they get up.

What a great year for the Bendigo Football League - 5 teams under $6 to win the flag!!

Gis - $3
Strath - $3.30
Square - $3.50
Sandhurst - $5.50
South Bendigo - $5.50

Kyneton $1001

Very reasonable odds for all 5 teams I would have thought. Even Square at $3.50 is still good value, considering they are still the reigning triple premiers and still have the personnel to claim consecutive flag #4. This time last year Square's odds would have been $1.10 at the best !! Would be happy to put some cash on South at $5.50 as well !

South seem to be the best value in the list of odds, I think in the second half of the year the true premiership contenders will start to shine, I just hope the Storm are one of them:)

Can anyone give me the result of yesterdays match between South Bendigo and Gisborne. It's ten o'clock Sunday morning and the Bendigo footy league website still hasn't got the result.

If you goes to "Live Scores" in the same website you can get the final result that way.

Gissy got up by 28 pts, 17.15 to 13.11
I watched all 3 games on the day so i know the scores, but i like to check who the best players were given to and the goalkickers. Its now Tuesday and still no scores or best players etc from the 2nds or 3rds game. More than likely the home club (South Bendigo) havent entered the results.

Luke Saunders is a freak !!!

Disappointing loss by the Storm boys today after leading Sandhurst by 27pts at half time. Sandhurst came out all guns blazing in the second half kicking 13.1 to Strath's 2.7 to win by 33 pts 19.6.120 to 13.9.87. Great effort by the Hurst considering they received major injuries to Thornton, Coghlan x 2 during the match. Next few weeks for the Storm will be hard going with away matches at the Square and Gisborne. Bartholomew bagging 4 first half goals was well held in the second half. Few Storm boys went missing after half time. Full credit to the Hurst for showing character in the second half to snatch the most unlikliest of victories.

Credit to you Stormboy for coming on here and speaking about your beloved team after what must surely be one of the most disappointing losses in your club's short history.

7 goals up at one stage and Sandhurst on the mat. Even their players would have thought the match was gone. Add to that, they lose their ruckman and prime on-baller. That left Sandhurst with a relative midget against your goliaths and still they got clearance after clearance. Can only put that down to them wanting it more. Why?

As you say, next few weeks are vital for the club to show something. Perhaps memories of last year's run home (0 from 3 to miss the finals) have crept back into players' minds?

I think most followers would acknowledge Strath have significant talent, however there needs to be a serious injection of ticker into that playing group. Is it out of line for me to ask the hard question about K.Lea? Perhaps that money could be better spent on an in & under type (or two).

Well done Stormboy for such a fair report when you would be hurting.

However a week is a long time in football for both teams.

Cheers Albury and Cuz. Only report on BF what I see and give credit where credit is due. Sandhurst scintillating after halftime, whereas Storm were very disappointing.
Guess you're entitled to ask about K.Lea Cuz. Has been a great servant of the club and when he is on can play at this level, however can be very frustrating at times too. Not for me to judge whether he should be in or out of the side. Will leave that for the selectors !
Still as you say Albury, a week is a long time in footy. Hopefully Strath can show a more spirited performance against the Square this week.

I had a choice of watching my Storm play at home, or a medallion club ticket for the Lions against the Bulldogs.

I chose the Lions, looks like I made the right choice;)

Think one of 5 clubs could win the flag in the BFNL this year, I hope the Storm can regroup after what happened Saturday.
