Shaw came 2nd in our BF and he can't get a start ahead of Malceski who wasn't in the 22 v hawks. And only one mid on the bench

That's all you've got to say? So swap Shaw with Malceski... depending on matchups either could start. And with only 3 bench spots and the need for a back up ruckmqn, how many mids do you expect on the bench?! Anyway, it's not like there aren't a number of players listed forward and back who can't play in the midfield as well as Malceski and Parker/ Armstrong.

One more mid on the bench. The days of a resting ruckman on the bench has gone. The mummy may get a few minutes but that is it. If you can't find a place for jessie up forward then he is not your man.

Then who is going to releive Mummy in the ruck??

I'd rather have an extra tall forward than a tall back (i.e. LRT).

Yes it's all very difficult with a fully fit squad Rhino.

Some have suggested Mattner makes way, but what of his outstanding tackling and pressure. He is also quite good with ball in hand, and very brave. Lets just not let Captain Calamity Kickin, kick it in FFS!
As for the best 22 come first bounce, injuries and Nob cup form shall most likely make selection easier one would think.

Obviously you need a 2nd ruck but they need to start on the ground. You need all the space on the bench for the mids rotation.

Why? As if it makes any difference - players are rotated throughout the game. If I had put White in the forward pocket instead of Rohan would you be raising this argument? It would be the exact same team.

No offence, but you are making no sense.

If it's one things the Swans (and my team) has enough of it's players who can rotate through the midfield. That is not our concern - it's finding genuine marking forward options. So if it means sacrificing someone like Bird for someone like White, then it makes perfect sense.

Maybe try naming your own team.

Thankfully the selectors understand. If your going to name a team in positions then don't justify it by swapping people around. Why not name Teddy at FF and Walsh at FB then.

That's a ridiculous statement and you completely missed the point.

No one was named out of position, I was merely noting that there are plenty of midfield rotations in the squad and at the end of the day, we're talking about best 22.

Try again buddy. Maybe put a bit of substance behind those arguments.

You named a resting ruckman on the bench, something which every club in the afl has gone away from. And when someone points it out you get you back up and attack people.

As for no one is out of position.... Adam in the centre?

PS not your buddy.

Agree so many variables and knowing who the opposition was would help. There is no definite best 22.

Yes Bra Baja. The opposition, the ground - even the ump.
No doubt AgentS120 will also come into play, like he has before.
None of us need reminding of Mals malfunction of the knee, the taking out of TDL. Haren and BIGBEZ going bye bye, never to be heard of, or seen again. All in AgentS120 extremely efficient wickedly way!

He is the Dick Dastardly of our times.

No, I named a forward on the bench, who can play in the ruck. And I take it you missed footy's move towards including such players over your typical ruckman who can play forward (I.e. "resting ruckman")?!

Goodes' out of position in the middle?! Did you watch any footy this year? He clearly played his best in the guts and he's never been a natural forward. That's a very poor example. At worst he plays 50/50 forward and mid.

Sarcasm obviously not your strong suit. Don't worry, not close to your buddy.

Still waiting on that team of yours...

Playing the man again. Have trouble with criticism do we.

My comment about the second ruckman was named on the bench. We started our second ruckman on the field all year as did all the other sides. The high rate of midfield rotations dose not allow for ruckmen to spend much time on the bench.

And yes Adams best footy is played in the midfield, yet he did not start one game there all last year. He started forward and then moved there.

And yes I saw the swans play 15 times live last year.

Again, the fact that I named White on the bench does not make him a resting ruckman.

As for Goodes, you claimed he was named out of position. Regardless of where he starts, it's clear he spent a bulk of time in the midfield and next year we will have further forward options, meaning he should (hopefully) not be required to spend as much time up there (or indeed start there).

The criticism is fine, it is Bigfooty after all. But you are nitpicking over my choice to name a player on the bench as opposed to on the ground. At the end of the day, that means next to nothing as:
(1) we are talking about a best 22
(2) I envisage (like all other teams) that there will be a heavy rotation of all players
(3) there are ample midfielders named in the squad who can rotate.

And I really do await your own team with interest.

Goodes in the centre is out of position? You kidding me?

And no club plays two ruckmen? Tell that to Essendon, West Coast and Hawthorn, Collingwood, and North... buddy.

Who said we don't need two ruckmen. Do you just make stuff up so you can post.

What was said was you need all of you bench space for your mids rotation. There is not room on the bench for a second ruckman. They need to be able to play in the forward line.

If jesse can't do that then leave him out and put a second ruck in who can. Pretty simple stuff.....buddy.

You said we can't have a second ruck on the bench. Why does it matter whether they start on the bench or in the forward line. In this day and age the bench doesn't matter. In fact, I've seen blokes names on the bench line up at the opening bounce.

I like this game though, we end all our posts with .... buddy, right? .... buddy

I can't see how we'll start with all of Mumford, Pyke, White and Walsh on the ground.

Neither ruckman will play all 80 minutes anyway.
