Time for El Doederino ...
He was a really good player but he was trouble in the locker room. A loud mouthed disruptor, which didn’t help as injuries slowed him down
This may be heresy but I think for sheer joyous moments I have Eddie in front of Mods.box office footy that was second only to the great Tony Modra
Eddie's highlights were all goals. This may be heresy but I think for sheer joyous moments I have Eddie in front of Mods.
If you're going to war, it's definitely Bone you want to be in the trenches with.McDermott. By a long way. McDermott was our initial midfield general. He never went missing. The dude was a state of origin winning captain.

But if 'Best Ever Crow' is the voting criteria...it's got to be Eddie
Tough as nails. Better than bettsMcDermott was, by far, the better player. A different player from a different era though

He was 27 by the time the crows entered so end of his prime. I was only 9 years old in 1991. But ive watched all the videos of the early ays for the crows.By far?!
Maybe I am being too romantic. I’ll usually rate consistently skilful, brilliant and entertaining players higher than those who incredibly valuable but more mundane to watch. Also maybe showing my age. I was a a teenager when McDermott was playing for Adelaide. I remember him being hard at it, but I don’t remember him being amazing. Was surprised to see the AA captain gong.
McDermott got shafted a lot with Brownlow votes. He put up some ridiculous numbers and yet never polled more than 10 votes in a season. For instance, he got nothing in any of his 40+ disposal games despite statistically being one of the best mids in the league in the early 90s, and the highlights I've seen from him would suggest that.He was 27 by the time the crows entered so end of his prime. Also stats show he was a ball magnet

McDermott was a gun but if there was a Team of the Century (plus 25 or so years) Eddie would be in the conversation to be in it, whereas Bone would be nowhere near it
