Both incredibly consistent players and ultra professional. Both genuine stars of the game and the club. Nigel gets the nod for mine. Throughout the 90s he played on the likes of Ablett, Lockett, Dunstall and held his own. Edwards was a great midfielder/forward but Smart just played in the tougher positions. Im talking only small differences, Can't knock Edward career though. I have Smart ranked 6th on my all time Crows list and Edwards 8th.

Well it is closer than not. Both stars of the competition. Smart I think edges him out on the ability to succeed 1:1 on the best forwards and backman in the comp. Something Edwards as a smaller mid could never achieve.

Smarts 1993 season gets it on its own. One of the best Ive seen. Plays the first half of season as a defender. Second half as a forward and makes All Australian.

1997-1999 Edwads No.

I still cringe seeing him on Winmar in 97 GF.

Luckily it didnt hurt us. But that Winmar goal early after Edwards fell over and fumbled the ball happend all too often early on.
