I’m sick of the term “family man” being used for every single player with a wife & kids when half of them **** off for 6 weeks overseas leaving their wife to do everything at home, BUT there are plenty of young men who are actually family first. “Family” men spend their spare time with their family, not repeating their early 20s with another year of cocaine, hookers & mates in Vegas.

She has met with players and their partners and she would sell the culture that her and the other player partners have created, no doubt.

Your point about Mitchell and prioritising Family is true, one of the things Mitchell has addressed publicly is that he wanted the “family club” monicker to actually mean it, because he wanted the club to feel like a suburban footy club where all the players wives and kids love hanging around together and at the club whether they play seniors, seconds or are rehabbing, which is what he loved about his local club as a kid.
