Becomes tricky. As a one off as management they can move things around and make it work. First time they were fortunate that the male was given an ultimatum of a few years abroad to save his marriage.
The second time is a bit more tricky from a management perspective. Yes it takes 2 but there is also a responsibility from management not to create a situation that doesn’t become scandalous and problematic for the network and the people involved.

Yes the top podcasters make incredible money and MH was the number one podcaster in Aus for years thanks to him getting in early when his peers didn't know what a podcast was and then attracting the biggest names in sport and entertainment by giving sickeningly softball interviews. His interviews consisted of hard hitting journalism like talking for 45 minutes about how incredible his current guest is then telling them the sun literally shines from your arseh*le "may I see it."

You're miles off - you need to be an absolute global smash to make serious money in podcasting. No one in Australia would be doing any better than okay with it

Wrong. At its peak "MH" was making over $5m a year from his podcast then add all his regular media jobs and investments onto that.
Also "global smash" yeah nah. There are people with very niche podcasts you never heard of and small but very loyal audiences making a million $ +

100%. While its (most) likely any issues are kept out of the public eye, there's always the risk of a Tiger Woods scenario playing out.

This whole thread reminds me of this:
Ross Lyon when he was in the media said he was earning more then than coaching. So assume he is on $800k or more coaching!!!

Yeah, I could be wrong, but seems like BS to me.
Firstly, who would want to be a coach, if you could earn more with practically zero pressure and approximately half as many hours working in the media?
Secondly, maybe the likes of Ross Lyon give decent insights in the media, but what would happen if his employer said "We think 800k is a bit much; we're thinking more in the 250-300k range is about right"? Well, presumably he'd walk, but that's still great money for 90% of the population (and again, minimal pressure, compared to most people who'd be in that bracket). And so they find another ex-coach who's willing to do the job for 300, they do a comparable job to Lyon and the broadcaster saves themselves half a mill and loses approximately zero of their audience, because nobody tunes in specifically to listen to what Ross Lyon has to say.
Like I said, I could be way off the mark, but for the life of me I don't understand how anyone outside of a very select handful at the top of the tree would be worth seriously big money (say $500,000+) in the sports media game, especially in the ex-player/coach "expert comments" role. It beats working a regular 9-5 and it seems like one of the biggest buyer's markets you could possibly find to me.
Thirdly, maybe Lyon was talking about his overall financial position. Wasn't he effectively broke at one point in his coaching career, due to some bad business deals?

Some good points. I think there are arguments on both sides. It seems the landscape is awash with money following the TV rights deals, as well, there is competition between the stations/content providers. In such circumstances, 'all boats rise with the tide'.
OTOH, I tend to agree that in a lot of cases, there'd be a reasonable supply of (reasonably) replaceable former player talent who could do the same job (i.e., sufficiently high profile, sufficiently competent, sufficiently draw enough eyeballs). For many of these blokes, what's the alternative? We are talking footballers here. Not everyone is Chris Judd, who can walk away from the media path.
To draw big bucks, you'd need to have developed a high profile/be unique, as well as striking at the right time and circumstances (i.e., being poached when inter-network competition is high). Even if you are e.g., 'triple premiership winning coach xxx', the halo effect would wear off and you'd have to parlay that into a something beyond your coaching creds. As the saying goes, your largest pay rise is usually when you first sign on for a job.
It seems Kane went early compared to the others who have switched, and so he may have been able to get a hefty salary bump. You'd also (like Kane) have to have multiple gigs it would seem. Not impossible, but by definition, only a few could do it.
RE Lyon, I imagine for the top dogs, coaching is in their blood, and secondly these select few can command a hefty price tag (~$1m) - him, Clarkson, Longmire, Hardwick, Scott.

You just need to see how many employers literally all of the popular and/or good commentators/journalists/broadcasters have - it's because they can't live the life they want with only one 'job'. So, on that basis, very few of them get more than $200k for their main gig.

Have heard similar, but also that Cath is very, very private so if there was something impacting her relationships the literally no-one outside of her very inner circle would know.
Kath doesn't follow Howie on Insta, but he follows her. On that basis - Howie's told her he's gonna leave his wife for her and hasn't.

I’m mates with Nick Riewoldt’s old black Labrador that he gave up when he moved to the states and he told me that nothing ever happened. Apparently the real reason Nick finally moved was because Petracca’s cooking vlogs were more successful than his stint on celebrity Masterchef.

I get the feeling Jonno Brown is safe. It's possible that there's a penchant for blondes here.
I grew up playing against Riewoldt in junior rep footy, and as part of the same junior state teams.
Even then, he was well known for liking blondes. His subsequent dating history bares that out.
