Richmonds upset of Collingwood in 07 and the Essendon upset also last season letting two essendon greats leave on a sour note.
Richmonds come from behind against Brisbane in Round 17 this year, the atmosphere was anreal, the loudist I heard at all of the richmond games this year!

My nomination:

1984 Grand Final-Essendon v Hawthorn

The Bombers looked gone for all money, when Hawthorn led by 23 points coming to the last quarter. However, there was a sense of panic in the Hawk huddle at three quarter time, even though Hawthorn were 4 goals up. Kevin Sheedy made some moves which turned the game on its head, most notably shifting Duckworth, Bradbury & Weston to the forward line. The result? Essendon kicked 9.6 and left Hawthorn shell-shocked.

BTW, anyone care to nominate the 1986 State of Origin-WA v Vic?

Prelim final in 2003 against the Swans.

At half time looked like we were struggling...

Then stormed home in the last quarter to win by 40 odd points.

Ash McGrath kicked a long bomb from about 70 out.....
Kicked into a vacant 50 and ball rolled about 25 metres for a goal!

round 22, 1999, Hawthorn vs sydney. regardless of what recordbooks say, there was at least 90k there that day. best atmosphere at the siren sounded and about 45k ran onto the field as one.

Too young to remember that Sheedy was a Tiger great first?

lol, that's just rediculous. It never fitted more then 75k as a fully-seated stadium, and the aisles certainly weren't crammed full of people (not where I was anyway). The 72k seemed just right for mine.

Also, can't believe how many Hawks fans don't rate this year's GF as their greatest highlight (I suppose those old enough to see past premierships are exempt). I, for one, do not rate Dicko's after the siren goal as a better game....

where i was there were people standing on top of other people, and there was litterally no room to move for about half an hour post game. was top deck in the members stand.

dont forget, its what youve been to. these days your lucky to get into a final with all these corporate sales, you have very luittle chance of a grand final

Toss up between our comebacks in 2007 Round 11 against West Coast and Round 13 vs Melbourne

Probably the West Coast game by a nose because the atmosphere was electric easily the best of any game I've been too.

Brilliant game, Hird, Lucas, Lloyd, Fletcher, Hille all firing. The Fletcher punch with 4 seconds to go was one of the best I've ever seen was perfectly in line with it missing the post by no more than 3-4 cms.

Best non-Essendon game: Collingwood beating Geelong this year, although the margin was massive, it was surreal to watch, I was in a state of shock for 120mins, funny thing was 3rd quarter time lead of about 50+ points there was still an uneasy feeling amoung Pies supporters.

1996 Prelim Syd v Dons SCG.

Got lucky in 04 after we got knocked out in the semi's. Had no excuse not to visit the outlaws (crows fans) who had great seats to the PF at AAMI but they didnt really care about going. Amazing game...probably best standard of footy i can recall and it was the pseudo 04 GF i reckon. Port fans went totally birko. With that standard both would've beaten Brissy the next week. Never really fully appreciated a non swannies game till then.

I'm convinced that Preliminary Final Week produces the best footy of the year.

This is a tough one.

Went to the 05 Grand Final, as a neutral supporter that was pretty awesome.

But cant be topped by some of the Essendon games I've been to.....

Anzac Day 03
2001 Essendon vs North
2004 Essendon vs West Coast.....Hirdy's last quarter......words cant describe it

2004 saints vs lions at the dome (with the point that wasn't a point)

i only go to a couple a year so choice is limited

that was a great game i was there no one knew what was going to happen if power was going 2 take his shot or not

Port Adelaide Vs Brisbane Round 22 2003, this was the playoff for top spot. Port Adelaide won by 3 points in the last 30 seconds in front of 47000 fans.

my most memorabke day at the footy was the last game West Perth played at Leederville Oval back in 1993. Ground was packed to the rafters and West Perth won easily but a very emotional day.

West Coast V Western Bulldogs at the WACA, Bulldogs kicked 8 goals to nothing in the first quarter and then West Coast did the same in the second, second half was hard and tough and a great game.

83-84 SOO games at Subiaco between WA and Vic awesome games they were.

1995 WAFL Grand Final West Perth beating Subi who were deemd to be unbeatable.

2006 AFL Grand final Obviously.

As a teenager being at the MCG for the 1992 grand final was amazing,
my first interstate trip.

West Coast being the first interstate team to win a grand final, remeber bringing home some soil from the G as a momento.

Singing waltzing matera as he kicked 5 from the wing.

Then later getting to listen to 6pr's broadcast of the game, and Percy's Johnstons saying Histroy, Histroy Histroy the flag is coming west.

Probaly the best radio commentary of a AFL game I have ever listened to,
the emotion was amazing brings a tear to the eye.

2008 Grand Final - first time I've been to a grand final and what a way to pop the cherry. :p

2007 elimination final - the atmosphere was awesome, particularly after Budwah slotted his seventh goal. Too bad the semi-final was such a let-down.

1996 Round 22 - "merger match". Bunghole's 10 goal haul giving him 100 for the season, Hawthorn gets up by a point and books a spot in the finals. Langers displaying his guernsey to the crowd proudly. "No merger" signs all over the MCG. Stuck it right up Ross Oakley.
