video link isn't working mate but this one works :thumbsu:

alot of goals ive never seen before in that vid, thanks for sharing, you cant go past daics for the best goals he had it all, long bombs, snaps, off the ground and left foots from the boundary in a time when your opposite foot was just there for support, absolute genius.

It's hard to nail it down to a single goal, there are so many that are in so many ways similar. Personally should never be given to a goal that has to bounce through, it involves an element of luck even if it is intended.

Best pressure goal I've seen Gary Buckenarra to put Hawthorn in to the 1987 GF, knowing that playing or not playing in a GF is riding on your boot after the siren, even though kicking from about 35-40m out its a heap of pressure and something a lot of players would crack under.

Yep. People who never saw Daics in his heyday can't possibly appreciate what a freak he was. Far be it from me to suggest best goal ever but there was never before him nor ever after a player who could do those freakish things on such a regular basis. Many credit him with the fact that they are now a regular feature of the game. Sure you may see one or two every week but the fact is that Daics did them every week himself and occasionally in multiples. When you add that to his amazingly accurate long torpedoes he was probably one of the most dangerous players of his time. Not many players have kicked 97 goals in a season as a small forward.

I had to look at a few of them again.

The Bradley goal really impressed back in the day, and it still really impresses me. It was the goal I thought of straight away.

The McGuane goal was massively overated.

I think Buddy's goal against collingwood in the PF was better than the Essendon double.

Like Bobby_ mentioned, There was a dunstall goal in 93/94' that he attacked to ball from the goal square tapped it on, then soccered on, rode a bump, shruged a tackle and eventually picked it up and had a left foot snap from the boundry 50 out. , One the best I've seen. But it was kicked by Dunstall, so it probably was a boring variation of a chest mark goal .

Daicos kicked so many amazing goals, collectively he wins.

This is an easy one. Sean Wight (RIP) bicycle kicked one from 35 metres out on a 70 degree angle against North in 1987.

Sure, he probably wasn't aiming for goal but it bounced its way through.

Not televised but the ABC showed the MCG's scoreboard coverage the next Friday. And then it was never shown again.

This goal is underrated, not joking.
He's moving out of bounds, there was no other possible way to kick a goal except for exactly what he did, it was perfect.

I was watching the game live. Cats had the game in the bag when the Ablett kicked this beauty. Almost as good as the goal was the reaction of Chris Scott. YouTube shows some of it, but the camera when back to him and he had this "...that was f'ing amazing..." look and wry smile on his face. He couldn't help but admire that one....as did the Geelong fans.

Why do people like flukey goals, one of the best I've seen was J Brown from the flank to get them into a final, plenty of pressure, plenty of skill, all class no arse.
That why Gary Buckenara's goal against Melbourne in a Prelim final rates as one of my all time best. After the siren around 45m out to get you into the GF. Great team goal as well.

I'd agree with your liking of that goal, but I've already praised Brisbane in this thread and my limit is one non Pie praise per thread:)

As posted earlier, the Michael Mitchell goal against the swans is right up there because when he took the ball at half back he knew he was going to kick a goal. That means it's no fluke and as deliberate as you can get.
