Don’t understand why you’d want to host Shield matches at a road like the Junction Oval. As the home side you should be aiming to win. It’s hard to win a four day match when there’s nothing in the wicket for the bowlers.

Their attack isn't great. When you have a bad bowling line up you can try and make bowler-friendly pitches, but the opposition bowlers will be even more lethal. If you make an absolute road though, you can draw things out enough to avoid outright defeat.

If you manage to lose all ten wickets in 50 overs on a road like this, you very much deserve to lose the match.
Well, yeah. If you get bowled out, you literally deserve to lose.

Vics are the only side with a chance in this game. I'm not saying it's a good chance, but cricket has a tendency to throw up some strange happenings from time to time. A Vic win is not beyond the realms of possibility here.

Amazing what being out in the field for 170 overs can do to your batting. Playing to just survive can be hard too. Need a couple of good partnerships and with only Hardie, Short then the bowlers to come, this is an important partnership.

Whatever stumps Pucovskis one was missing must've been transplanted outside Hardies off stump. Maybe hitting a 5th stump

Shocking decision , hopefully not the same umpire but the thing in Hardies hand may as well be firewood if he isn’t going to use it.

The Vics were out in the field for 145.2 overs and managed to score 616 runs for the loss of only 4 (really 5, given Jhye’s incredibly obvious lbw that the umpire blew) wickets.

I don’t mind him padding up to that one, any umpire who isn’t blind can see that was missing off stump by a large margin.

Hardie would be pretty filthy after this match, his first innings lbw was very likely going down leg and this one might have clipped fifth stump.
