What an amazing game! I've been pretty critical of Cummins but this was a tactical master-class. His ability to also perform brilliantly as an individual (through his bowling) was incredible.

I only watched the first innings but felt pretty optimistic that we'd done enough. Was very happy to wake up to good news.

The Kohli chop on was the big turning point. He and Rahul were pretty chanceless up to that point, and if they’d been able to take it out to the 35th over or so scoring at 4 runs per over, they could have accelerated and guys like SKY and Jadeja could have been a lot more aggressive, which is their natural game. Instead they were left with Rahul, Jadeja and SKY trying to hold together the innings, which resulted in a subpar total.

A lot must be said for the role of luck in these matches. Kohli didn’t offer up any chances until he chopped on whereas Head had a couple of very close calls where he nearly chopped on. Glad it went that way obviously.

Kohli and Rahul were chanceless, but were being strangled by some excellent bowling changes and field placements. I mean, 97 balls between boundaries, followed by another 70-odd until the next one again. By leaving yourself with so much work to do in the back end you expose the possibility of losing your wicket at an inopportune moment and seeing it all come undone. And that's what happened.

The Indian team didn't stay out for the presentation. Poor form there.

They were very emotional in the loss. Especially after it was a forgone conclusion for the last several overs.

Can't say I'm feeling g too sorry for them after getting g the home pitches doctored just how they like it.

Great game to win and good opponents at home.

Poor form 100%. Goes to their character. Where are the poms while we are on it?

Fully expected to see him in here tooting his own horn. Was a great call.
Keen for a victory lap by FKASC

Believe he called this weeks ago.
I don’t have a strong feeling toward the Australian national side like I do with WCE/WACA/Scorchers/other teams. So I’m always bemused as a more ‘objective’ follower how quick everyone is to get the pitchforks out as soon as Australia loses a game or two. Despite them absolutely dominating international cricket for decades.

Just funny how being passionate about a team can make you way more critical as soon as things don’t go as planned

He didn't have the best team on the field
Not convinced by this.

Australia’s batting line up might not all be white ball specialists but Warner, Head, Marsh and Maxwell are all devastating batters and it’s very unlikely that all four will go cheaply.

Smith and Marnus are great anchors - not many sides have two reliable middle order batters who are both also guns in the field.

Maxwell is a genuine all rounder in white ball cricket, not a part time spin bowler. Expert strangler. Again a gun in the field.

Cummins especially and Starc to a lesser extent bat well enough to be considered bowling all rounders when you look at how easily knocked over most other sides tails are.

This Indian tail was so brittle you had Jadeja coming in at 6. Can live with that against a weaker attack but not Australia.

As talented as Gill, Iyer and Siraj are, I don’t think they have the mental strength/experience that the Australian equivalents had, and Suryakumar Yadav is a pure T20 specialist, who for some reason India keeps trying to shoehorn into Tests and ODIs.

I think Inglis is a bit of a weak link but otherwise once they got rid of Stoinis and Green, this was a powerful side full of proven champions

So uh...

Looks like I'm having a kid.

If it's a boy, I kinda want to suggest either Travis or Harley.

I'm sure the wife will understand, right?

I'm kidding, don't want to name my potential son after a celebrity.

IMO the biggest moment was Head catching Sharma, the guy was on fire.

Oh for sure, and Head deserves a lot of credit for continuing to hit boundaries and strike at over 100 despite Aus being in early trouble. It allows Marnus to just play conservatively, which is much more his natural game.

It’s probably somewhat easier to play with that freedom knowing that you’ve got Cummins and Starc at 8/9 instead of Bumrah and Shami.

Jhye got knocked around by slogger extraordinare Fraser-McGurk but knocked him over in his third over. Connolly is also back from injury. Behrendorff’s off to India for the T20s.

Fortunately South Australia left out their best batsman (Manenti).

I know he's an absolute gun but I really dislike Kohli. Seems a massive faux tough guy. When he tried to mad dog Marnus as they walked parallel down the pitch after an over he looked ridiculous.

Marnus is a fair bit of mouth too but it was embarrassing for Virat.

Hobgod playing so should be no problem chasing down what looks likely to be a decent total
