What an amazing game! I've been pretty critical of Cummins but this was a tactical master-class. His ability to also perform brilliantly as an individual (through his bowling) was incredible.
I only watched the first innings but felt pretty optimistic that we'd done enough. Was very happy to wake up to good news.
Kohli and Rahul were chanceless, but were being strangled by some excellent bowling changes and field placements. I mean, 97 balls between boundaries, followed by another 70-odd until the next one again. By leaving yourself with so much work to do in the back end you expose the possibility of losing your wicket at an inopportune moment and seeing it all come undone. And that's what happened. The Kohli chop on was the big turning point. He and Rahul were pretty chanceless up to that point, and if they’d been able to take it out to the 35th over or so scoring at 4 runs per over, they could have accelerated and guys like SKY and Jadeja could have been a lot more aggressive, which is their natural game. Instead they were left with Rahul, Jadeja and SKY trying to hold together the innings, which resulted in a subpar total.
A lot must be said for the role of luck in these matches. Kohli didn’t offer up any chances until he chopped on whereas Head had a couple of very close calls where he nearly chopped on. Glad it went that way obviously.
Im watching this on loop.
Poor form 100%. Goes to their character. Where are the poms while we are on it?The Indian team didn't stay out for the presentation. Poor form there.
They were very emotional in the loss. Especially after it was a forgone conclusion for the last several overs.
Can't say I'm feeling g too sorry for them after getting g the home pitches doctored just how they like it.
Great game to win and good opponents at home.
Probably basking in the glow of knowing that they are man for man a better side than the World Champions.Poor form 100%. Goes to their character. Where are the poms while we are on it?
Fully expected to see him in here tooting his own horn. Was a great call.
I don’t have a strong feeling toward the Australian national side like I do with WCE/WACA/Scorchers/other teams. So I’m always bemused as a more ‘objective’ follower how quick everyone is to get the pitchforks out as soon as Australia loses a game or two. Despite them absolutely dominating international cricket for decades.
Not convinced by this.He didn't have the best team on the field
Noah HarleySo uh...
Looks like I'm having a kid.
If it's a boy, I kinda want to suggest either Travis or Harley.
I'm sure the wife will understand, right?
I'm kidding, don't want to name my potential son after a celebrity.
IMO the biggest moment was Head catching Sharma, the guy was on fire. This Indian tail
After all it was a moreal victoryProbably basking in the glow of knowing that they are man for man a better side than the World Champions.
Hobgod playing so should be no problem chasing down what looks likely to be a decent total
Jhye got knocked around by slogger extraordinare Fraser-McGurk but knocked him over in his third over. Connolly is also back from injury. Behrendorff’s off to India for the T20s.
Fortunately South Australia left out their best batsman (Manenti).
