Mate I think you need it pointed out that you get weirdly vindictive about sportsmen on the teams you actually "support".

Some people are just that genuinely unpleasant that anytime there is something that is universally celebrated (like Konstas on debut) they can't join in the fun, and have to be the negative contrarian.

See there’s the thing… I’m generally indifferent to the Australian cricket team. Haven’t cared id they win or lose for the past 20 odd years.. infact it is a greater delight when they get beat.

Konstas might come off, but from what I’ve seen in two years time he will be a forgotten player by most in terms of a test cricketer.

So why get all fizzed up if it’s an opinion you don’t like.

Closest comparison for mine is Warner. Brash youngster parachuted into the Test team on the back of T20 form.

Yeah lost in the inane argument that Khawaja’s dismissal was somehow caused by Konstas is the fact that this was not the batsman being done in by a peach from the best bowler in the world. It was a gun-barrel straight delivery that Khawaja just needed to get forward to and defend. Instead he flailed downward and across his legs with the bat, jumping off his back foot. Seriously, this is not the position of a batsman who is at all confident in his approach:

Konstas has definitely got under the Indian’s skin like no other Australian cricketer has for quite some time

I must say whilst I like his enthusiasm and willingness to stand up to them, I’m not sure Bumrah is the type of player you want to rile up

Hopefully he can let his bat do the talking tomorrow

This test, and by extension the series, rests on our batters ability to hold out Bumrah

I don't think there's anything lost in riling up Bumrah. The guy averages what, 19? There's nothing to lose by goading him. What's he gonna do, suddenly bowl quicker off a long run up?

Konstas currently has the advantage of youth and not knowing any better. Let him run free for the moment.

He played that like he plays the spinners. Comes a bit faster from Bumrah though
