Is this correct?

Says here he's available for the whole series unless he's a late selection for England.

Saw just the headline for an article in the west saying he’s leaving along with Crawley. It’s paywalled so can’t read the rest but I was also under the impression he was available for all games. Hope the article is wrong

Is it actually possible that the West :poo: has got it wrong?? :drunk: (search for sarcasm emoji)

Actually, it'd just be our luck that this is the first thing they've gotten right in about 5 years.

Can you really consider yourself a "talent" if you wet the bed at the thought of playing on a mildly challenging pitch 6-7 times a year?
His words not mine. But it’s T20 and you would normally expect to play on roads like Adelaide Oval

When was the last time Green played a game of cricket at any level?

I mean the West Indies aren’t a strong side but he’s being pitchforked into a test with no time in the middle since early December. Maybe longer ago than that

Seems to be a fair bit in the press this morning about Renshaw being included in the squad as a back up.

Hopefully that's the case and it's not Hardie.

That would mean the Heat would lose, Kwahaja, Labs, Renshaw, Billings and Munners from their line up.
It might balance things out if we do lose Evans.

Squads been announced

Green into the 11 for Warner with the resultant shuffle of the order to have Smith open with Green at 4

Renshaw and Boland in the squad but not expected to play

George Bailey saying they’ve picked the best 6 batsmen in Australia and tbh, that’s probably a fair argument

Time to move on from Boland at 34, and Renshaw ahead of Bancroft as the squad option is clearly the wrong choice.

Tail wagging the dog. The Pat-riachy?

I mean I know Boland is unlikely to play but he shouldn't be next cab off the rank and still clearly is. Was very poor during the Ashes and we need new blood.

Yeah, I forgot to add that Renshaw ahead of Bancroft is clearly a dressing room decision. Fair enough to say they’ve picked the best 6 batsmen to play but they’ve left out Bancroft who is clearly the 7th best based on a year and a half of shield form

Renshaw is a decent backup because he can bat anywhere from 1-6. He’s also younger than Bancroft or Harris, and a left-hander, which makes him a reasonable replacement when Khawaja eventually retires.

But his form is much worse than Bancroft’s, and you just know Cam is paying the price for saying the quiet part out loud - the bowlers knew.

Feel for Bancroft - haven’t really delved into the details of sandpapergate but surely he can’t be hated whilst Warner/Smith are still universally loved

I wouldn't say Warner is universally loved. Plenty dancing on his grave from what I've seen.

I think Smudge is just seen as gutless over the affair.

Bancroft really took an axe to the bottom of his own canoe with his comments on the bowlers. Not sure what he was trying to achieve or if he had/has accepted he will never get another call up to National duties.

What were the comments? I don’t mean loved by the public, I mean the team and coaching staff etc.

The bowlers were, on a superficial level, squeaky clean about the sandpaper plan. Banners indicated that they knew about it in an interview somewhere along the way and then rolled his comments back a few days later when it blew up.

I think someone has posted the series of articles in the arse end of the 3rd* Pakistan Test thread or maybe the thread about Banners missing out in the cricket forum.

I think he's probably just not very bright tbh.

Warner kept his mouth shut. Bancroft talked. Snitches don't get pitches.
It's a poor part of Australian society, sadly.

Whisteblowers get treated worse than those who perpetrate. Look at David McBride.

Will be eagerly awaiting Bancroft's autobiography one day. One chapter on leg side dismissals, the rest of it on Sandpaper Gate haha.
