Sad news, Elmer.
The last manager to take Scotland to the World Cup. Here's hoping that Steve Clarke is the next.
I will probably re-watch CB's World Cup Diaries this week to reflect on the '98 World Cup appearance.
Some big names in Scottish football have passed on over the last two years. Off the top of my head, Walter Smith, Andy Goram, Gordon McQueen and now Brown.
Scottish Football is generally underrated and imo disrespected over the years by so called football intellectuals who should know better
My club Leeds greatest ever player King Billy (Bremner) was a scot, as was my first/childhood football hero, Gary McAllister.
Have a lot of time for Gordon Strachan too.
Walter Smith was very decorated manger too.
Sir Alex Ferguson is legendary too and almost universally regarded as the GOAT manager (although I feel like Pep Guardiola will over pass him at some point, if not already)
Definitely would love Scotland back in the world cup.
A small, proud nation that punches above its weight and deserves more recognition for what they have contributed to the beautiful game
