Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

I wasn't involved last year, so I'm not sure what you mean by rank. Are you referring to a soccer style division 1, division 2 et al setup? I'm assuming you came to these leagues based on previous scores?

Correct.

This way is more fun I think.

Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

Fair Call BTG.. I guess last year there wasn't a lot of inter division rivalry.. hopefully this year improves.

Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

Im in again. Won Div 1 last year in big footy debut season.

just sayin..

Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

I didn't make finals in div 2. Just sayin'...

Also, I should be able to do something similar to what EFL Boy did with the rankings and stuff last year. Provided each division "admin" hooks me up with screenies of leagues scores each week.

We should make up some awards to (hopefully) keep interest up through the season. Ontop of the division premiers - things like overall winner, highest weekly score for the season etc.

Good idea or should I not bother?

Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

Not sure that winnings finals should be rated higher than points scored.

Was in one comp last year when I got fourth highest points scored after the Home and Away but finished 11th on the ladder for wins and losses.

My weekly scores were consistent but seemed to bump into an opponent who had a good week.

Think that the big prizes are given to the highest point scorers.

Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

While SuperCoach obviously regards 'points scored' on a higher level when it comes to the total prize money - the leagues however, are a different story.

These operate just as the real season would, in that you do what you can to win each game, to put your team in the best possible position come finals time.

In terms of the prize money, I regard the points higher.

In terms of the league, I regard winning games on your day (as well as being good enough to be consistent against any opponentin the finals) higher.

With points scored, you have teams that were very consistent in Round 1 to 7 (for example) - benefiting from these accumilated points later on in the season when they start scoring low.

Whereas teams that have used their trades well and have been able to remain competitive later on in the season are the ones winning finals and thus proving that they haven't bottomed out and holding onto past glory.

Re: BigFooty Essendon SuperCoach Leagues

Any idea as to when we will receive the divisional code?

We'll leave it until interest starts to slow down.
