Conca won't be getting a pay rise, he got one last time and hasn't played since. Maric won't get another contract. Vickery and Houli are already on good money, not sure they'll get much more.

You reckon next year will be Maric's last year? Big call.

Indeed. I'm almost glad they'll be getting some quality academy kids in, I feel for Leppa.

Would Kruezer come across for the reported 700K we are offering Motlop? I'd almost prefer Kruezer if we got Yarran to come across but it also brings up the issue of too many former Blues stinking the joint up.
What has kruezer done to deserve anything over 500? No thanks.

Straight swap for our second round

Trigg lost so many Adelaide players for squat I don't think he has any idea on how to manage trading

He will beat his chest but at the end of the day Yarran wants to come to the Tigers and they will take what we offer

If we don't get him through trade it means he walks, regardless of the year he has on his contract

(Pity we don't have bling to trade but either McDonough and/or Morris is about right)

I don't share the love many have for Yarran. I think of him as a flashy forward who in the last year or so has played off the back flank but not really done anything special. To think of him as a FP and his best return so far in a season is 26 goals where a player like Nahas best season was 34 but we got rid of him.

Just don't see all the upside some do for Yarran. Can he play midfield & win his own ball or just an outside receiver that will roll fwd and skirt packs???

Better options out there IMO
Remember those 26 goals were in a team that contained Betts and Garlett, on his form in 2015, just ignore it he has mentally checked out of carlton.

We sound busy, but then so does this off season. Yarran, IMHO, is a the fall back option. He would bea useful addition to our team, if he regains his mojo. At his best he is worth a first rounder. Right now he's worth a rookie slot. So whatever is paid for him by whoever is basically on his potential to return to form. He'd add speed and silk. We could use those things. But I would be surprised if he was our first target. I reckon though others have already outbid us for Danger and Treloar = whatever's next best. As far as rucks go, I wouldn't be unhappy. But we have the Hampster, TV and Griff to fall back on. It just isn't the priority. A good quality inside/outside mid would go a very long way to a premiership though. Those guys can write their own check.

Will be interesting. I suspect that the first couple of deals will lead to a cascade of other deals. Carlton and Bris want Band 1 compo. So some good players are probably on the table.

Cloke is a campaigner. We took him back to get him to 300 and he didn't even offer his kids to us. Granted they're spuds but still. Rioli was a better footballer for me than Raines but you're right, it was handled poorly.

He did offer us his kids actually.. but the cost of getting Travis was picking up Jason (meh) and Cameron (lol).

Won't play the last 3 games. Thats a dangerous and terrible precedent.

Hawthorn have the money and are definitely going to blindside everyone with an unexpected player.

I'm tipping it could be Henderson.

Lake has not been signed up for next year yet. Why?

I'd say the deal will be our 1st for Yarran and their 2nd(20ish).

I say that is very much in our favor.

We should have say pick 14 so we are upgrading there 20 to 14 and the lose Yarran.

I think it will be we give up our first 14/15 and then they upgrade our second from 32 to 20.

So effectively same deal but we throw in pick 32. On Yarran's talent and yes that is what the trade will be judged on not current form, he is worth a pick between 10-20. However he is out of touch a tad I would suggest his value is somewhere between 18-22.

Wouldn't surprise me one little bit come to think of it.

Yep,Which i have no problem with.More incentive to finish as high as we can this year.Screw the Bloos in the process.:D

Not sure why anyone wants to give up our first for Yarran?? He is highly talented yes but only ever been inconsistent at AFL level. Plus he is 25, his best football relies on his pace, its not like he will be Burgoyne or McLeod ect... who are smart enough footballers to get by once their athleticism begins a downward trend. He might at 4-5 years left at the top as an athlete before he needs to find some new way to impact the team.

The looking through at some previous trades his value is about 25, maybe 20 because its a "shallow" draft. 2nd and a player is more then enough.

And you certainly wouldn't get a Burguoyne or McLeod with a pick 14/15.

His 25 and it's fair to say he would have 6-8 years of footy left.

I am happy for our first rounder to be involved if we get 20 back. Not straight out!

Good point..

Sos was not that good when it came to his deal for shaw (Taylor Adams worth more at this stage in their respective careers)

But he will do better than Trigg

How about this

Astbury and Griffiths to Brisbane

Bell to Brisbane Yarran to Richmond

Llenburger to Essendon Zorko to Richmond second round pick to Carlton

Carlisle to Carlton

No i agree (Burgoyne netted 9 & 16) but i was pointing out that Yarran's game is based on pace and agility. A guy like Christensen can play longer as he doesn't rely on his pace and is smarter. He was younger, better and played a huge grand final only got Geelong pick 21.

Tambling had better years then Yarran and only got an end of first round pick (when the end of first round was in the 20's).

Lovett was far superior then Yarran and Essendon got 16, which they on traded for mark williams.

Farran Ray was younger and getting more of the ball and bullies got pick 31.

Justin Sherman got more of the ball and was an end of first rounder (when the end of first round was in the 20's).

Ebert in great form at WCE got pick 28

Josh Hill not as good but a reasonable dangerous forward averaging just under 2 goals a game and younger netted the dogs pick 49.

Monfries is strange because he was a FA but he was averaging 15 touches and a goal game same age as Yarran and got pick 51.

Wellingham at a similar age getting more of the ball and an important player in a premiership got pick 18

Bernie Vince far better player got pick 23

Elliot Yeo was pick 28

Yarran is worth more then our second pick but not even close to our first pick even with a down grade and certainly not upgrading our 2nd to theirs. 2nd and a player or maybe our 2nd next year if Carlton want to ride their luck on a stronger draft.
