it's looking really bad, what do you think the club should do?
No ****ing idea. Just hope the club is analysing and reviewing any potential shortcomings in the program.
We've had a good run so far. I think 4 injuries would just put us about on par (not that bad but not good either). The issue is we would have lost 2 of our top 3 players which'd be a disaster. Fingers crossed Walsh news isn't true.
WB have lost Smith and Macrae (shorter term) now which is the only other club to have had such a big impact on their best 22 for round 0/1.

Jack Martin has a hamstring issue currently.

Weitering - round 2-4
JSOS - season
Owies - calf???
Walsh - stress fractures???
Martin - hamstring???

???-not club confirmed as yet.
If the 3 unconfirmed injuries are eventually confirmed. It won't derail us because we have so much depth (only weiters seriously hurts). But it'll give further credence to something isn't quite right with the program.

I think Walsh would. Our best player and we don't have another midfielder like him. Weitering and him are our 2 most important players followed by Charlie.

I don't think we can cover Martin either but unless it's a serious hamstring he should be fine by round 0 (if the rumor is even true).

I haven’t heard anything about Walsh, what is the issue?
As for the other soft tissue rumours to Owies and Martin, 40 odd blokes going hard for months is bound to result in some niggles to hammys and calves.
I obviously don’t have any idea if the rumours are true and what level of damage has been done but I don’t see a fundamental underlying problem with these types of injuries.

How they are managed pre and post niggle is extremely important but niggles are to be expected from time to time.

That would make JSOS, Weitering and now rumors Walsh and Owies all injured this off-season. We'd be leading the league again in injuries?

The good news is that our injured aren't members of the 'old chronically MIA group'.

Well.... I think that's good news?

A quick look at the list here would tell you that we’re in a similar boat to most clubs, right around the average amount of injuries if it’s to be believed.

There's already one.

The physical demands of AFL are such that the twisting and turning on the surfaces that they play on are going to cause a small percentile of injuries regardless of the jumper being worn. As others have pointed out Jack is the third player to get an ACL already this summer.

As stated In another post, I personally think there's an issue with our training surface. However, I don't have any of the facts or any of the research that the club should have at its disposal. Without that I have nothing of significance to add on that topic.

I'm certainly not going to blame Russell for this injury. I think that argument is absurd and playing the blame game for no better reason than some having the need to blame someone.

As for Pittoner, every club has injuried and/or sore players at this time of year. I was speaking with a player at another club on the weekend and he said that there's four or five guys on his team carrying a preseason injury. The likelihood of any of them being unavailable for Round 0 is nil (unless recurrence) so there's no point in sensationalising headlines.
