After seeing Will Hickmotts efforts at the WA combine does anyone else see the similarities with Tom Williamson? Largely unloved despite some great results in the combine testing - perhaps another bargain?

Looks to have a bit more pace and is smaller than Willo.

I’m happy to go the draft other than FA from now on. Settlefield and Walsh this trade period, will give our young midfield a great mix and depth.

Cripps hopefully realises he is the leader of this young group. He hopefully decides to not worry about immediate older heads for support and with the similar age group midfield group, it gives him 5 years of success. Hopefully if he stays, builds and leads! Others do the same as well.

Was asking Bartel what is sign of improvement for us in 2019 and was just being really smug about it. He was also sooking about our use of the state league players all of last week.

Regarding the ‘state league players pp’ ... we gave the middle finger salute to tha AFL and I loved it!!!!

Trade period is so bloody long.. Trade Radio emphasises this by the amount of meaningless filler conversation they have. Needs to be reduced. As per usual there are about 10 trades to play out and 2 days left..

Dream scenario:

Brisbane's pick 5 makes its way to Freo for Neale then to Melbourne for Hogan then to Gold Coast for May. Gold Coast want to spread their high picks across multiple drafts so agree to trade pick 5 for our 2019 1st and Casboult.

We go to the draft with 1 and 5 and take Walsh and Rankine.

What did he say?

Just listen to one of the many conversations he's been part of during trade period on the live shows when discussing us or his podcast with Nat Edwards talking about players coming to us... always digs the boots in. Is a massive * supporter and tries to be objective, bless him. But he's not fooling anyone.

I would jizz....

You'd like to hope the captaincy gave him a hint on this front!

Carl: pick 1 and 2019 future 1st to GC for picks 2 and 3

Then trade pick 2 to Port for 6 and 10

Trade 10 to Frem (which they may want to facilitate hogan) for their future 1st and then trade 6 and Frem future 1st for Shiel (if *can’t execute the trade) or of on the table a coniglio/Kelly

Thoughts....

Why would Gold Coast do that? How does that trade benefit Gold Coast? This year's draft is mooted to be stronger than next year's. Gold Coast ends up worse off rather than better, especially if we improve.

Sam Walsh is just as likely to leave Gold Coast in a couple years as Luko and Rankine. Just because he said some motherhood statement don't make it true.

Pick 1 has only been traded once this century, and this year is highly likely to follow that same trend.

We keep 1, and we draft Sam Walsh. Boring, safe, predictable and perfectly fine by me.

Agree totally, 5 days are ample time , AFL has extended proceedings for media benefit.
Its farcical.
Most of pending trades will be completed Wednesday as final day is televised.

I reckon Monday - Friday is more than enough. Hell, drag out the Friday to 8:30pm if they want some spectacle and do their live show BS. But 5 days is more than enough time with all the wheeling and dealing before hand.
