Wouldn't have thought so. Though if we were to write off Goddard and Macreadie there could be some merit in trading cheap for Ben as a project KPD. Probably two season's work, which would line up with an expected decline for Jones and Levi. Would mean our developing key defensive stock would be BSOS and BMAC.

Agreed, Goddard could be seen as just too sluggish for AFL and Macreadie is off the boil (but contracted).

Sorry guys, and sorry tencentpiece for having to call it out, but TCP has never gotten anything right in and of themselves. Latches onto other reliable rumour mongers and media whisperers early and rides the wave by crafting their own narrative, in my experience.

I followed them early days in their career and there were loads more misses than hits. Not an attack on them, just a word of caution to my other fellow rumour seekers.

around Oct 8 EP states that a non-Carlton source tells him that Essendon are back up to their necks in Dylan. Primary driver was the relative ease of a deal.

If I recall, everyone had * out of the mix by then.

B70 is good and his contributions are gratefully received, but if EP says it will happen you can almost treat it like it already has. Far and away the most reliable rumour monger around.

From what I've put together Barrass has ties to CFC list management and EP has ties to player management. Barass will give us what CFC thinks is happening and EP wil give us what the player managers think is happening. The fact that Barrass is rare but constant whilst EP comes out of the woodwork at trade time backs my theory

Thanks, will edit my original post to reflect that I don't just mean B70 rumours. Followed TCP in the early days, vastly more misses than hits and I found only ever hit on things others had already suggested. Almost like they are amalgamating rumours from other sources then crafting a narrative to suit.

Not an attack on the poster at all as these among their other contributions are part of what makes this place fun to read, but I am always doubtful when reading something they put forward.

That being said I grew up with him and he is an incredibly humble guy and doesn't deserve the 'knob' tag. Very little ego, just wants to follow in his old mans footsteps and loves CFC.
