An important thing to remember, and I'm sure SOS is aware of this, is clubs love game breakers, match winners.

Yarran is one of these.

So here's hoping the Blues dig their heels in to get a good pick because Richmond will REALLY WANT Yarran IMO.
Agree with this, he is contracted.

Get pick 12 and then hopefully continue to watch him break lines with run and carry and miss the game winning goal opportunities when they play us instead of the other way around.:D

What is happening with Rice, why is this kid taking so long to choose it shouldn't be this hard regardless of who he chooses.

He has to choose on the 31st of this month, I think the problem is that he is a Carlton supporter and loves us, but see's St Kilda as the better prospect for himself.

The problem with our team is we have a lot of HBF's this may make him worry for a spot.

At the moment,

Simpson
Touhy
Buckley
Byrne
Sheean
Docherty
Rainbow
Holman
Dick

That's 9 players that play in the back line as running defenders. Then depending what we pick up trade period there could be more.
but how many are elite kicks?

Gold coast to have a stack of picks in the first round. Why not offer them a few picks?

Our first (next season) and Geelongs first from next year for a handful of picks this year.

Allows them to spread their picks over 2 years, and gets us players sooner rather than later

I've rarely seen such an overrated list of young talent than what St. Kilda's is. People comparing them to the Dogs are so far off of the mark that it's hilarious. They have some nice B or B+ players but I don't see one genuine A-grader in the lot.

It didn't surprise me that not one of their supposed young guns made the AFLPA 22 under 22 team for the fourth year in succession (including the 2012 retrospective team).

Our first being a likely no.1, 2 or 3? It would have to be a lot to give up that.
Jaeger and one of their firsts for our first next year would be the minimum

It's not actually a strong draft though, and it's not as though we're in a rush to rebuild. I think you would pay a premium to move draft picks forward a year, so not worth it. In 12 months time (assuming we hang on to it), we'll be laughing.

Realistically though I can see us trading it for someone like Tomlinson.

I thought the word going around that this year is a shallow draft, why would we do that then?

I think he is suffering like when you go to a 7/11, want a drink and just stand there looking at all the choices.
we need to simply walk up to him and say "this is best for you", take him to the front desk and get him to sign.

Agree...Only the most one eyed supporters would think we are at the same stage of our list regeneration as the Saints. Id say they are 2 years more advanced.
In saying that, he is not 24. At age 18, Bailey will have ample opportunity to play in a succesful Blues side so i think there may be more at play. Maybe SOS doesnt rate him as highly as others do and with that, our commitment may not have been as strong as the Saints.. Maybe SOS has plans for the pick we would need to use! Maybe Bailey jas built relationships in his time he has spent at the Saints..
