would argue barrass is a very good defender and would be in the top 10 of the key defenders in the league. after weiters, harris, taylor he's definitely in the next group with may, moore, balta etc. i would love to have him at the blues (i wouldnt mind getting the older mcgovern.....)
Balta would be a ripper...he tore us apart in a couple of games....great swingman.

Two first rounders would be crazy for Houston. Glad it sounds like we aren’t interested in doing this!

Nor should we be, ridiculous currency, but it's Port posturing and not wanting to really trade him after missing some replacements and wanting overs

Damo and his stupid stupid 'Sliding Doors'

Our plans should be set...

GC in theory, should prefer our F1 + Owies for 13 + 49 over 13 for Noble...

The points for next year will be invaluable to them given the changes...

Pies posturing for a 1st round pick for a player who is borderline fringe for them is ridiculous.

Should we obtain pick 13 from GC, we might offer it up for Houston one more time and it'll be up to Port to take it or leave it. I'm hoping they say no to that.

We can then be a bit more creative to get the Lions 1st round pick too...

Imo there’s no way Austin is giving that sort of deal up for Houston lol
Move on to the next deal.
And let port come back to us with something more realistic or Houston stays imo

It is realistic from their pov...

Don't forget, we demanded 2 first round picks for Gibbs... and ended up getting them...

There's always a few other picks involved, we'd probably get a 2nd back or something like that...

Either way, it's way too much for us to pay.

What I’d like to know is whether or not austy is considering trading in a kpd? And if not why not?

Which KPD is available this year that won't cost us an arm and a leg?

Like it or not, the smartest move for a good KPD, is to wait for next year. SDK, Leek, Bolta all ooc...

Even if we do get pick 13, I don’t think we will be offering Port anything they will want for the Houston trade to go through.

Everyone knows the GCS’ pick is up for grabs and it’s probably really smart for us to do everything we can to get that pick whether it be to trade or to take straight to the draft.

Houston came to us and hoped we could do a deal for him and we can, we are just prioritising the draft on cheap kids rather than spending 2 1sts plus 800k or so on a hbf, no matter how good he is.

If we get 13 I can see us trading 1 1st and 33 or whatever our 2nd pick will be to get picks around 20 and 21 or even both 1sts (12 and 13) to get 4 picks (but unlikely we do this).

I think we go to the draft with picks 12 and 2 in the early 20s to beat the Campo bids. An influx of youth this year will set us up for many years to come with not only some good kids, but saving some space in our cap in 2025

Port are well within their rights to ask for a kings ransom for Houston. He's contracted and has openly said that he's happy to stay.

We don't have leverage, therefore we shouldn't entertain the prospect given the high price.
I agree that they're entitled to name their price but something tells me they'd like to offload him.

If that’s the plan …all good

I don’t think he needs to be a star…a bit better than young should be good enough.

Another option might be to find a player from lower leagues?

Slight difference in that the Crows came hard for Gibbs, wasn't so much a play from Gibbs to go home for family reasons,
and,
Justin Reid :p

I'm buggered if I know why the Suns even need a John Nobel with all the future stars they've got stashed away.

What we need to do is trade a player out that's worthy of a similar pick or one that attracts 1st. band compo.(you can't have your cake and eat it too)

Gibbs would be the last decent player we've lost.
Suns delisted Oleg markov two years ago who replaced John noble in the pies best 22
