Scott Gullan reporting that the Dogs want a top 10 pick from the Cats for Bailey Smith. Will likely never happen but I would prefer him over a Houston - real POD in that midfield. Would happily hand over 12 or 14 for him and take the other to the draft. Obviously has nominated Geelong (and they always get their man) but he is mates with Charlie so you never know

The way I see it Haynes is replacing Marchbank and DGB (if it eventuates) would be replacing S.Durdin.

If nothing else eventuates with KPDs in the draft/trade going from Marchbank/S.Durdin to Haynes and DGB for 2025 seems like a decent upgrade at no cost.

We then have options. All if a sudden we have KP/Taller options in McKay Curnow Kemp Silvagni Lemmey TDK O’Keefe Haynes DGB McGovern Young

We look like we have some decent depth and flexibility in 2025 and that is without drafting another tall or getting someone like McCartin as a Rookie

Would love Baz but at this point I’d rather trade up and draft Sid Draper!!

He would be a real POD in our midfield, every thing we need and I like the Draper/Ben Camporeale combo injected into our midfield. I think people are sleeping a bit on Ben, I think he will be a really good player for us and play next year

Hawks would probably be letting him go because they feel his upside isn't what they thought it was.
ExaCtly!
Getting excited about him I find a tad ridiculous.
But I need to stop being contrarian out of sheer boredom and get on board!
So
Whoooh!!!
Pretend Barrass!!! FanTASTic!

I would be very happy if we ended with

Pick 12 - Best mid
Pick 14 - Berry
Ben Campo
Lucas Campo
Haynes
DGB
Duffy
And maybe 1 or 2 others

Balances our list. Improves our SC

I expect a few changes yet but I would be very happy with this
I’d be a little surprised if we take a mid at 12 considering we took Lord in the MSD and that the Campo boys are both mids.

i ve been expecting that we’d add half forwards, half backs, small forwards and key defenders.

I still feel we need to draft a KPD, I like taking a punt on DGB but it’s unlikely to be successful and I hope we pick one in either of the drafts.

I’d even rather get 3 picks by trading back 14, take a key defender and two others.

Never forgotten the way Ricciuto arrogantly dispatched young Reid to Melbourne under the impression that he was just going to waltz into Carlton and take Gibbs back to Adelaide as he pleased.
Didn’t quite work out for them as they expected …
Would again bring a smile to my face should we snaffle pick 3 and take Sid Draper just ahead of their pick 4.
Have a nice day Roo and young Reid 😁😁

I was impressed with Austin’s moves yesterday, getting another 1st this year was a good move and still some flexibility if we can move others on.

I’d be pissed if we do that trade with WC.

Our 1st round pick (24), our 1st rounder (25), our 2nd (24), our 2nd (25), all to get a player at 3.

It’s a crazy crazy gamble, even if that player is quality, there will be quality players taken around all of those picks and there’s 4 of them

My god i can't wait til Boofhead Kelly, Boofhead Leppa and Young Reid are fully running Collingwood.

Surely life couldn't be that kind to us.

We got a 2nd back.

So its more like 12, 34 and 15(F) for 3.

We did get a 2025 2nd back in the deals as well.

So really it is 12 (will likely become 14-16 depending on bids), 34 and F1 for 3 (will likely become 4).

Hawks board makes interesting reading about DGB. Running capacity and brain fades the most mentioned flaws. Seems he went okay when tried forward.

If DBG is not aggressive/hard, do not want. Carlton seem intent on collecting the softest backline in history.

It's a basic premise that the defenders are tougher and the forwards are more talented. Only Carlton are getting it wrong.

Our backline is more suited to stamp collecting or playing mtg.
DGB has the aggressiveness you'd want, just has a tank like Stocker atm. He's actually a bit of a pack crasher when he's played up forward the last couple times he's been healthy. Quite liked what he showed during that stretch of games.

I think supporters are always going to be extra brutal when they spent 6 on him. Also puts added pressure on the player when they aren't coming on.

Sometimes a fresh start can provide that relief.

Not sure, plenty of pages of waiting patiently. We don't have a great record with turning careers around for the better.
